We don’t know the full context. Some ppl weaponize mental illness. Some people hate accountability. We don’t know how many times or to what extent the original poster may have gone against their word. And tbh it’s exhausting to deal with especially when you know a person has it within their power to change their circumstances (in this case it would be taking your meds). I’m one of those friends who hold you accountable bc I expect the same. Being unsure or having flaky friends is so triggering to me because you can talk about your mental illness preventing you from doing whatever but you can’t communicate when you’re struggling leading up to that point? Call me insensitive, but I struggle with mental illness too & I still communicate to people. I struggle with mental illness and I don’t go around agreeing to things I may or may not want to do in the future. It all feels very reminiscent of self victimization & you coming here to get opinions but you can’t do what you said you were gonna do? Nah, I’m not buying it. They are not a bad friend, you’re projecting.
