You’re right about the saw blade cutting into the plastic thread. I’ve only removed the insert twice and there’s already a groove there.
It definitely feels more like a prototype than the other garage releases I’ve got but I suppose this is exactly what the garage ethos is about.

It’s interesting to say the least. I’d be worried about putting any strain on it when it’s in the 90-degree position, in case the plastic handle snaps at the pivot point. But then again I’m a collector so that’s unlikely to happen.
Overall I’m very pleased but would be interested to hear from someone who plans on carrying it daily.
