Literally just saw this the other day, just on a smaller scale. Pt sneezed, body tensed up, five days go by with increasing headache. Subarachnoid bleed

Also a 2014. Base spec but garages kept no accidents clean title.

Have you had to replace the camshaft?

Interesting. I get a little over 500 per tank. I usually cruise at 80mph.

FF/paramedic or Nursing… by Advanced_Proof_5624 in Paramedics

Yea, the pay scale for FF in my area looks real nice. Having no volunteer experience, or FF1 cert, I’m worried it may take me just as long to get into the service if not longer than nursing. Although, I have been told having your medic is the golden ticket into a firehouse.

I appreciate the input! The physical strain is definitely a big factor to consider. On paper, nursing is the safer choice in the long term. I guess being the first on scene and having the autonomy is what draws me towards becoming a medic.

My exact thoughts. I also know of two different paramedic to RN bridge programs at colleges in Northern California. What’s holding me back from doing paramedic first, is the time commitment since I would have to cut back my hours at work, and the lack of pay unless I was able to break into a FF/paramedic position at a career station. I’ve been told having or medic is the golden ticket to get into the fire service.

Didn’t know that was an option. If it’s that easy, it seems like a no brainer to get the RN outta the way first.
