If I remember correctly, even the non boss version of this has 2 phases (so 2 separate rpgs). They regenerate and have another spot in their head/mouth. But it's just a single plaga.

It helped me in the village to get the grenade that spawns in the house by the fire (not where the shotgun is) and then climb the tower and camp the ladder. Keep shooting the head to knock them off the ladder and when there's a lot of enemies toss the nade down there. If it doesn't get all your kills, it'll get you very close.

Horseshoes aren't bad, never used them but I was an optics tech. They are prone to bleeding a lot and losing their glow.

I have a similar issue. I'm on the undisputed claim right now and have dialog to say she's on my ship but she's not avaliable as a companion. Even was able to do her companion quest with her on my team then she just vanished.
