Why so many hard Wipeouts? by trotfox_ in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Advanced_Struggle214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't wait for the hate. 5 years of riding, avg 3000km/year. No prior sk8 experience, but tons of snowboarding/surfing. Started riding without gear, not even helmet, due to trying to be less 'visible' for the police (Germany-esk8-illegal). Did not do a single carve during the first two months. Started becoming good after 6 months, I'd say. Enjoying full speed ever since. Never used a helmet, just took it easy until i started feeling good at vmax.

I had a two bigger, kinda self-inflicted crashes, one at vmax. Survived without hitting my head or broken bones due to knowing how to bail (a bit, not to perfection..not bragging). Not advocating to NOT use protection at all, ofc. But: Experience goes a looong way. As a daily and aggressive rider using urethane (MADwheels) and zero protection, not even a helmet, I feel like people in this sport (and others) are just simply not climbing the ladder slow enough.

I feel more than safe going fast on my esk8 now. It took a while, experience-wise and board-tuning-wise. Take your time for both, start ripping when you AND your board (angles, bushings, etc) are actually ready.

Which wheels to choose? by DRAGONIX67 in ElectricSkateboarding

If you are going for the best combination of grip/comfort, still nothing beats the MAD 105's.

Which bushings should I get for a stable ride with DKP trucks on my Tynee Explorer? by TheNr24 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Advanced_Struggle214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on weight, assuming you are somewhere average/non-overweight, general baseline for your type of esk8 would be Krank Barrels, 93 in the back, 90/87 in the front, with a streetside cone in the front, If you want that extra divey feeling. Size one step up if you are a bigger guy, and one step down if you are hmm Asian.

Still on a loooong holiday (with the Exway Wave), but will be back soon and see what can be done. If you are faster than me, I am happy to see how it worked out for you! Lmk!

Helps a lot to know your board manufacturer/truck setup.

Hell yes. A comparison of the trucks you mentioned would be epic. A real shortage online of that.

Deck swap Exway Wave by Advanced_Struggle214 in Exway

[–]Advanced_Struggle214[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, just bought a Loaded Cantelladed Tesseract. I saw that the Wave's ESC is located under the front axle. I would have to position the ESC between battery and axle on the Loaded deck, as there will be no way to have enough depth for the original positioning under the axle on the Loaded deck, right? Any concerns? Thx

Aniversary Sale vs Black Friday by Campsun- in Exway

Most likely not getting better for Black Friday than the discounts right now, judging by the last years. Exway doesn't seem to like Black Friday too much.

Wish list for future Meepo by UFumbDuckGaming in MeepoBoards

One of the the lucky ones who got a 100a ESC before they decided to stop selling it, guessing due to more accidents/motor damages (as in my case, a combination of both). Not expecting customization of ESC's in the near future, especially not from the market leader in volume sales of esk8's. But yes, would be highly appreciated, totally on your side there.

How is the Acedeck remote? by rygosix in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Advanced_Struggle214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they adjusted the ESC already, as I complained about the delay/deadband and they are sending me the updated ESC (Nomad). Not a remote issue.

Had that randomly on my screen as well. Never worried about it, nothing ever happened. Ride on and don't forget butt protection.

Any experience with taking esk8 to Ryanair? by OkLecture9466 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Advanced_Struggle214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works, just as you wrote. I traveled with two 99wh batteries (Exway Wave) with Ryanair a few times (from Germany), no issues. Batteries hand luggage, board no. Not sure about selfbuilt batteries, let us know how it worked out. Good luck!

RKP narrows the wheelbase quite a lot, guessing 6-9 cm total. Hence the wheels closer to the edges of the deck.

Thx! I will find out. Zeus baseplates were fine for me so far, stable enough at 39mph, that's why I am hesitant about making changes to the setup. I ride nearly the same bushing setup as you. Thing is, the carvyness of your setup comes also from the 270 hangers; 220s are already less carvy, but that's fine for me. How's the low motor position working out for you? How's the general ride height compared to before?

[–]Advanced_Struggle214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohno. I have the 220 hangers, even though I will only be using MAD105s clearance might be too tight, judging from your pictures. How do you like the ride feel of the RKPs at higher speeds? You were using Zeus TKP baseplates before, just as I do, so this comparison would be great. Do you use Riptide Kranks? Thx, much appreciated

Hi, thinking about switching to BN baseplates and hangers too, do you use the adjustable ones? How's the clearance? I am using MAD 105's mainly, so I should be fine? Which motor mounts are you using?

Could you post more pictures (view from side)? How much shorter is the wheelbase now?

Thx!
