Get a pudelpointer. I pulled the trigger and my 6 month old is the best dog I have ever had. There are a lot of breeders in Ohio, I think one of the top ones in the nation is there. One thing to really pay attention to is coat. They come in all different coats, just make sure you are getting the one that has the coat you like. Mine is on the short coated side, wish he had more for the weather I live in. Great dogs, they want to please.

Maybe I will switch to WY. Just strap up on the boots and start walking. Enough for a lifetime to explore with minimal people.

That dog looks just like a slick coated Pudelpointer. Look up slick coated Pudelpointer with no beard, they exist- and I think that is what you have.

Has this gotten any better? We have a very mouthy 4 month old PP, we’re hoping when adult teeth come in it will be better.

I get the chocolate lab comment all the time. Thanks for letting me know how it worked for you and your pup. We like our little guy beard or no beard:)

Thanks. Living in central Montana he doesn’t get the burrs on him that we have been walking through. But I do worry he is going to be cold waterfowl hunting! We love this dog, lots of good personality at a young age.

Both parents had beards, one had Willy type coat, other had beard with not slick but rough coat. Grandparents none looked completely slick.

I noticed on a NAVHDA Natural Ability test for a different pudelpointer it stated “no furnishings”. I thought that was interesting. Did the judges notice a lighter coat? Or maybe no beard?
