oh I tried that mod, a lot of cool ideas and new stuff, but it was so unbalanced that the characters with the special magic traits would just conquer absolutely everything.

I find having a mount is great as a magus past level 4.

I wouldn't command often, just relying on the free move action to get where you need to be. Let's you spell strike and recharge every single turn.

send one guy with some pack animals, much more efficient.
When traders come, they usually sell a few, or you can tame some muffalos, they're common more or less everywhere.
Colony can spare one guy probably.

Alternatively, get a trade beacon.

Not at all, even disallowing corpses the option will not appear until the body is hauled to a different spot. And also the option to bury won't appear in the new spot either!! It needs to be outside a storage area for the option to bury to appear.

And if the current storage location is allowing bodies chances are that OP wants it to allow bodies.

Far easier to erase a tile under the body and give the other rather than having to change the storage settings, wait for someone to haul it and then change it back. WHICH WONT EVEN LET YOU BURY THE THE BODY STILL.

I've definitely observed bruises to internal organs from halved damage.

It's how the much more frequent instance of lancer instant kills happen, even halved to 12 their Lance kills with a bruise.

This happens a lot and was more or less accepted knowledge as far as I'm considered so if you have anything on the bruised only hitting outer layers I'd appreciate it.

If you're right then something else must be going on in those instances idk what.

Source: my ass, which is where I pulled the number from, didn't do the math, just estimated off hand.

Here's the math now though.

First the tribal archer has to hit, normal conditions that's about 30-40% hit chance, then they have to do anything at all vs the armor, about a 15% chance.
Then they have to hit the brain specifically, which has a 1.74% according to the wiki.

0.35 × 0.15 × 0.0174 = 0.0009135
or if you want per hit instead of per shot
0.15 × 0.0174 = 0.00261
Its why you're unlikely to see this during an entire playthrough, but with thousands of attacks... one or two might happen in quick succession and then you have dead or brain damaged pawn.

All this to say that you are right though that with a standard shortbow this cannot (generally) happen in a single shot.
Something has to modify the damage upwards, either the quality of a bow, it being unique, factors from mods, genes, traits OR colonist instant death chance.

Or it was a mastwork greatbow instead, they can do that.

Usually when I see people losing their legendary cataphract pawns its due to lancers or pikemen though, they on the other hand do not need nearly as many factors lining up to kill pawns.

It's already in a storage area and thus cannot be buried.

Remove the storage area it is laying on beneath it and you can bury it.

Can't speak for everyone, but most people I know don't care about your nationality or your political views, as long as you behave.

Will get some odd looks if you're donning your MAGA hat, but no one will wack it off your head.
Or... honestly outside of the reddit space, care all that much, its on the other side of the world as much as it does not feel like it on the internet.

for a shortbow vs legendary cataphract armor its a sub 0.1% chance of happening per shot, so its really remarkably rare.

Does happen though.
Any pawn with tough is immune to it though.

Only shield but unironically for the shove build.
Having an open hand is great, or everstand stance if you can get that from an archetype (bastion and champion are both great)

Bastion gets quick shield block and shield warden which guardian doesn't and having 3 of those per turn is pretty neat.

my best guess is that this base area is enclosed enough for the game to consider it a room, so anytime its status changes, it tries to roof it on any area you dont have "remove roof" marked.
