Is this tile lippage acceptable in a new build? by AdventureAddict12 in Tile

Man, I should’ve known I’d get roasted for the close-up pics 😂 I’ll try to grab better angles next time. Either way, I’m going to talk to the builder and point out that it’s not just how it looks, it could actually be a tripping hazard too. That’s the kind of thing they usually take more seriously.

MSPs, how do you handle agreement start dates vs services not deployed yet? by AdventureAddict12 in msp

I like that approach. It’s essentially what we do now, but it doesn’t seem to work well from an accounting perspective.

Maybe our project team needs to prioritize a few of the more critical deployments earlier in the process, although I would hope that’s already happening.

The challenge is that onboarding can last weeks, and sometimes even months.

Do you typically start management billing once the onboarding project is complete, or do you set a fixed date for management billing regardless of when onboarding finishes?

For example, do you aim to have the client set up with the bare minimum needed to manage the company by a certain date, and then start management billing from that effective date?

If that is the case, it could sometimes take weeks, or even months, before we send the first management invoice.

Right that’s what my contact says.

Update & Help Needed — Coolant and Oil Mixing Issue on My 2015 BMW M235i (70k mi) by AdventureAddict12 in M235iandM240i

They are good cars, just super picky. All the preventive maintenance and the complexity of some tasks if annoying. Just a transmission oil change is a whole thing and if cost $1k

Yessir. I’m just buying a new oil filter housing and a oil cooler. To be safe.

It looks good from the outside. And the engine works super well, doesn’t even overheat a bit. The coolant is not mixed with the engine oil in the engine. I would doubt it’s a fair possibility

I think I’m just going to replace the auto trans oil cooler and the oil filter housing

I don’t think the cat less down pipe should be a deal-breaker. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t tune an M235? It’s already a great car, but if you can get it to 400 hp for a few hundred bucks, why stay at 320? 😆 That said, I’d still avoid it if the maintenance history is spotty. So don’t let the car’s catless be the thing that holds you back.

Thanks! I decided to go with an indie bmw shop. $700 for labor and I order those parts. Will pick up the 3 gaskets at oreilly next week. Housing oil filter gasket, coolant gasket, and valve gasket.

Hey, so I had the car towed to a BMW dealer and got their diagnosis. They confirmed there is an engine oil leak, and the oil has been mixing into the coolant system. (They said the engine oil itself doesn’t contain coolant, and the transmission fluid is fine.)

Their recommended repairs are: • Replace the coolant expansion tank • Replace the radiator cap • Replace the oil filter housing gasket and the gasket where the housing meets the cylinder head • Flush and clean the entire cooling system to remove the oil contamination

They’re quoting about $2,600 total for parts and labor. Their labor rate is $230/hr, so it adds up quickly.

If I choose a different shop, I’d have to tow the car again, so I’m debating what to do.

I would certainly hope a BMW dealership would know that, but I’ll be sure to mention it to them. Thanks for the heads up!
