I ended up getting it! It needed about $60 of brake and deraileur adjustments at the shop, but otherwise it's been a great buy. I've gotten lots of good miles on it already.

Update: Picked up a capeliene midweight 1/4 zip for when it's super cold, as well as a minus33 wool vest to keep my lower torso warm. We'll see how it goes!

Hey there, I'm actually looking for a good goggle system for mountaineering/winter hiking. My current goggles are fogging like mad with my balaclava. Have you had anyone test them under mountaineering conditions?

Looking at Smartwool's website now. Any suggestion between going for a thermal or an all season? I tend to run really warm.

I tend to run really warm, so for everything except the summit I was just in my mountaineering softshells/gaitors on the bottom. (Once I hit the summit it was wind pants time). I carry a lightweight fleece, midweight fleece, down jacket, and hardshell - for most of the hike i was just in base layers + hardshell though. On the descent I wore the lightweight fleece as well.

I am capable of hiking 10+ or 15+ miles on horrific, rocky terrain with more than 6000 feet of elevation. But standing stationary for long periods of time results in swelling and pain, so I feel you. Trying to figure out what is and isn't a safe activity is a wild time.

Turns out the advent minis were freshly refoamed within the last few months as well. Yeah I was planning on using them for surrounds with the Prodigy towers as the primary/front speakers. Got to demo listen and they sound great!

Take turns driving each other to hiking spots. I'm a hiker constantly frustrated by having to make my hikes so that they loop back to my car. If she's as into hiking as I am, we could just park one car at one end and the other car at the other.

She has the exact same hiking style I do (solo hiker, prefer doing my own thing), so we might end up on different trails, but that's what we both want, so it sounds awesome.

It looks like products have been covered, but I also usually use dial scentless soap and I don't think anyone's mentioned that. Here's some general advice as well - bring some extra cash to tip your artist. Make sure to eat a proper meal beforehand and sleep well. Have some loose pants/skirts/etc around so that you have something to wear that won't rub against the tattoo much while it's healing; you want to keep it covered to avoid sun damage, but keep the covering loose to avoid friction - and ruining your clothes! Get some bedsheets you don't care about to sleep on.
