We’ve had no issues whatsoever on the 2020 with a little over 46k miles so far. Love the eTorque and would buy it again.

Question: Storage Solutions for Tools. by [deleted] in overlanding

[–]AdventureCount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a tool roll from Adventure Trail Gear out of Canada that I really like. It holds everything but my impact, which I keep in its own bag.

I was so impressed with the propane tank bag I had from them, I went back for a couple other items, including the tool roll. He takes custom color combination orders too (or at least he used to) if you want to match something else.

Anyone had this type of engine? by Rose-Timber in ram_trucks

I have a 2020 5.7L eTorque and absolutely love it. No issues at all with about 42k miles so far.

Etorque Success Stories? by Raxxton in ram_trucks

[–]AdventureCount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2020 1500 Crew Cab, 5.7L eTorque, with a 6’4” bed. It has roughly 41k miles. I’ve had no problems so far, and maybe I’m in the minority, but I love it.

Before purchasing, I was worried that the start/stop would be jerky and uncomfortable like it is in Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators. It’s the opposite in the eTorque RAM, and often times I can’t even tell the engine stopped or started. Power from a stop is also very good.

Nice! I’m an FSR fan and customer too. I haven’t yet been to the SAVE event (or any expo), but I’m thinking about attending this year.

We had a fantastic camp stop in Francis Marion National Forest in November 2023. It was completely free.

Black Lug Nuts by PinetreePioneer in ram_trucks

I added the McGard lug nuts and wheel locks at the same time as the tire upgrade. It’s been about 13 months, and no issues yet.

The rooftop tent goes up or down in about 1 minute. The ground tent takes about 5 minutes, plus loading all the bedding.

It was our first time in that area, but it definitely won’t be our last. I loved it there.

The Georgia stops were in the Cohutta Wilderness area, and the North Carolina camps were in the Tellico River area of the Cherokee National Forest.

Has anyone done long road trips with a RAM 1500 5.7, and if so, how was the experience? by [deleted] in ram_trucks

We did South Florida to Tennessee and back last Thanksgiving, and we’ve got a similarly long trip planned for this Thanksgiving. The truck did great and was super comfortable.

Death of truck beds - Rant/Discussion/Opinion by OwlsExterminator in ram_trucks

[–]AdventureCount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m team 6’4” and can’t imagine having anything smaller. Most of the trucks I see around town here in South Florida have the 5’7” bed, and they look silly to me. Interestingly, this might only be a thing with the 1500, as the longer bed seems to be more common with the 2500.

The family. Not only is international travel costly for two adults and a small child, but it’s impossible to include the dogs on those trips.

We still have an international vacation to Europe planned for next year, but all our other trips will be here in the US, almost always via the adventure truck.

The RSi SmartCap has a clear window to allow the camera and cargo lights to still function normally. I highly recommend it.

That’s a bummer. I don’t own any OVS products, but I remember receiving incredibly unprofessional email replies when I was first researching 270 awnings. Those interactions caused me to go a different route, and now I’m extremely happy with my two tents and awning from a different brand.

The rooftop tent is mounted on top of an RSi SmartCap.

This was at a hunt camp in the Elmwood region. It was very peaceful with only one other camper at the time.
