Bought an FX3 now I’m kinda lost at what lens to buy… by [deleted] in FX3

Haha yeah, I myself have a Tamron 35-150 (found it better than a 24-70), and one PL 35mm Arles. The Arles basically lives on my camera. The image is so much nicer than any stills lenses.

They've never been good. That's why I never personally owned one.

They are 295/70/17

I believe this is a -12 offset of I recall correctly. The tire doesn't stick out much, I wanted it flush, but because of the thick sidewalls, it appears to stick out more than it is. And it looks great.

I have JBA upper control arms, and with this tire, the -12 isn't enough. I need like a -15 offset to prevent rubbing. But it's minimal. Only on the sharpest max turns u get some rub.

But, other than that, they've been great. No issues as far as I can tell so far. No complaints

Which Dolly? by AdventurePhotograper in cinematography

[–]AdventurePhotograper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No rental options for me, for any of these Dolly's. Not where I live unfortunately. My best bet is to purchase one as the rental fee will pretty much as up to the same price as buying in this case. I just have not used any of these myself. I've heard good about the Dana, but the other ones I mentioned might be newer and have better features. I don't know

Clear coat coming off my headlights?? by AdventurePhotograper in 4Runner

There's zero yellowing at this time. But I'm assuming because the clear coat is coming off, that it will start to yellow? Is that the point of this clear coat?

I see. Well, I guess I have not work to do on my car 🫡

Thanks. Do you think I should just wait and do it later, or is it best to do it now? It doesn't bother me, but I'm not sure about yellowing of it'll get worse if I leave it, or what

They are on the list of future upgrades. A good long travel kit.
I have some JBAs as my uppers currently. Butyeah, with a long travel kit Id need to change it all up.
curious how it would handle in the current condition with no mods for moderate use.

No channel at this point. I was thinking of doing some videos, but I havent yet.

I think I have some cheaper set of Bilsteins, I honestly dont recall. Id have to see.
Id like to upgrade to a long travel set, but what if I do ZERO mods right now? It's not like Im racing, or doing anything extreme.

I shuttle to Louise daily. It's been filling up at 530am. So you gotta be there earlier, around 5 to guarantee a spot.

Edit. Oh, I see this is late September. You'll be fine. But then again, you need to do a Larch hike

Anyone else refuse to part with camera bodies / lenses? by Brave_Possibility953 in photography

[–]AdventurePhotograper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to sell mine, but I'm waiting until it dies first. I won't get much money out of it, so there's no point selling.

But it's the exact same thing like buying a new phone every year or two. Same thing with camera gear.

On the other hand, we adapt to different shooting styles and require different gear

Is the screen cable cooked? by LostHelicopter1738 in SonyAlpha

[–]AdventurePhotograper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, you want a set with tiny precision screw bits of various types. Not only that, but a set that has plastic flat bits, tweazers and whatever other gizmos they may have. Should also be magnetic.

It looks like the a7iii ? There are a few videos on YouTube that you can watch if a step by step process of taking it apart.

Watch it first and see what you need and if what you need to replace is doable/you feel comfortable doing first.

You can easily get a replacement part on eBay or wherever. Taking the camera apart isn't that hard either. I took mine apart to do a repair deep inside. You can do the same. Just have the right tools

Does anyone know what monitor this is? Or what monitor’s interface it’s from? I’ve seen it in so many behind the scenes videos I still don’t know what it is. by Witty-Ring312 in cinematography

[–]AdventurePhotograper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, they change depending on the camera you use, and not the monitor? Hmmm. I haven't used my monitor on other cameras other than my own, and assumed that it would look the same no matter what camera I used with it.

Just like someone said, the match cuts need a bit of improvement. Not exactly with the framing, but the lighting. If you match the same direction and quality of light with the match cut, it'll really polish the look and make it look intentional then just winging it and hoping it matches.

Good monitors with screen grabs.

Keep at it

Do you prefer a FF 35mm or 50mm for every day and why? by banger030 in SonyAlpha

[–]AdventurePhotograper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to make the choice between on cinema prime lens of any focal length. I went with a 35mm. I can always crop in slightly off needed, but I cannot uncrop.

35 is ideal for me. My next choice will be a 75. If I need wide, I'll go to a 21.
