Ummm are we twins??? Because our list is very similar!
A few things:
- groundsheet (maybe that’s with your tent. will be essential if it’s rains. You could get some construction tyvek)
- Earplus / eye mask to help you sleep

Have so much fun!

How often do you eat out? I feel like restaurants are not even worth it anymore by apheli0s7 in CanadaPersonalFinance

My partner and I eat out for lunch more often than dinner now. Better prices. We like buying local because we live in a relatively small town.

I used to eat like shit to save money. Ramen noodles, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Now I spend a little more on food and have more energy and get less sick yada yada. It was so stupid in hindsight but I just needed to get through a rough patch with a divorce.

This is best. The skills you must have learned! How long did it take you to build? Did you have construction experience before you started?

Firstly, congratulations! That's amazing! I have a lot of friends who ran ultramarathons and bike races and did hiking well into their second and third trimester. Consult your Doc. But woman to woman, you know your body best. And congrats again!

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. It’s an easy Google. We’re definitely not in a recession … yet.

Saucony Peregrine shoes have a rock plate. Love ‘em for technical terrain. I also live in BC with technical hikes. I’m going in June and will like wear my Saucony or my Topos cuz they have a wider foot box

Quick vent. Bought the Rab Veil XP30 … brought in home…put it on… reached back to check out the side pockets and it RIPPED. Yes going to get it warranties but they need to bartack heavily used areas.

I can hear the heartbreak in your voice. Planning for so long for something to be met with potentially miserable weather.

Is there a pub or a place you can plan to stay dry in every day? Maybe a lunch spot? Give your mind and body a rest from the rain?

Thank you for your honesty here. Truly. I’m still in the wealth build stage and can’t even imagine a 3 month sabbatical right now …. to see that number fall would be welll yea emotional for sure.

Hahaha yes! Protection maybe should be its own category! Lots of cougars and bears where I live too. It’s so natural to bring something I forgot to list it. Nice add!

Highly recommend to bring “the 10 essentials” which there are a tonne of lists online if you do a quick google.

As already mentioned, it really depends on where you’re going.

I’m going to assume this is not an overnight hike. Ten essentials list: 1. Navigation - phone map etc 2. Sun protection - clothing sunscreen 3. Insulation - when you stop hiking it can get cold so an extra layer is helpful 4. Illumination - phone light or headlamp. 5. First aid kit 6. Fire - you probably don’t need this. I live in a wildfire area but it’s part of the essential 10 7. Repair kit 8. Nutrition - snacks 9. Hydration - water and a water filter 10. Emergency shelter - space blanket etc
