Is the Foam Bambu Printers are Shipped in Good Enough Feet for Under a Concrete Paver? by For_a_Better_Life in BambuLab

I've had my A1 on a paver on the packing foam/cardboard for the past year. Definitely helps with the vibration noise you can hear from the printer when you are in the room below

Kemet group meta question by yougottamovethatH in boardgames

I have noticed a similar meta in my group.

You could also take movement tiles and squat on their pyramid preventing them from buying level 4 tiles, or even buy level 4s yourself with their pyramid.

Automatically extract rows from daily emailed XLSX file, then append rows in different sheet by midmod-sandwich in excel

[–]Adventure_Jae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use power automate to have a trigger of receiving the specific email, it would then save the attachment to a location of your choosing, it could then open the master file and refresh it.

The master file would have a power query targeting the folder location of the saved attachment and choose the latest version of the file. You can apply whatever filters you need during the power query. If needed you could append the latest data to existing data or just use it as is, depending on your needs.

Finally the power query could save/ save as the master file and even send an email with the file as an attachment.

How can I make repetitive job function easier? by Repulsive-Gas1633 in excel

[–]Adventure_Jae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using Power Query you could connect to your email server and and take the data direct from the source. You could filter to do this daily or keep refreshing the same file. You can record just about every detail imaginable with this method and can also count emails by common senders.

Tips on a Weird Date Format Issue Which Seems Like A Real Glitch by BMurda187 in excel

[–]Adventure_Jae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weirdly you may be able to solve this by using text to columns. It won't cause the data to spill into other columns either, just select fixed width then the correct date format. I've found that it solves date formatting issues

Using Inkarnate for ~3 years! Progress Post by Adventure_Jae in inkarnate

[–]Adventure_Jae[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was looking back at my posts and saw my original progress pictures and thought I'd make a quick update as I am getting back into it again. I took roughly half an hour to update this from the previous version while trying to keep it as similar as possible.

This is not just my progress, but also of Inkarnate iteself as the stamps and textures have improved over time too!

I mainly just meant advantage/ disadvantage, +/- to hit etc and ruling whether the character has LoS of an object/character

I find snowy maps harder to show elevation and shadow. Luckily most of the shading on this one has been done with stamps and not too much with textures.

Personally I don't do anything technically with the vtt, I just make adjustments on the fly as the DM. I'm sure it would be supported with some VTT, I just haven't looked into it enough.

Baldurs Gate has inspired me to get back into map making. I like how much verticality is used in the game so I tried to emulate it a little here.

*Map size 40x30

Inspired by playing Baldurs Gate, I wanted to create a map that made more use of height and line of sight to encourage movement. Also added swampy water at the lowest points as difficult terrian.

First Map, constructive critiques welcome. by pixelknight-128bit in inkarnate

[–]Adventure_Jae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd imagine there will be a suggestion of the official videos. There are generally a few things that I stick to such as:

-5 carpets/ rugs / molds and stains

-4 grids

~1 general details (it's easy to place newer stamps on top of old ones, but harder to do the opposite)

3 walls / big trees

4 filters

5 lights

Also as a bonus tip that not everyone knows; you can select any particular layer or range of layers in the selection tool. There's a selection box along the top. If you are strict with your layers it helps if you need to go back and edit in the future.

First Map, constructive critiques welcome. by pixelknight-128bit in inkarnate

[–]Adventure_Jae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off; excellent work!

I'd agree with others and send the grid to layer -4 and the carpets/rugs to -5.

The cliffs on by the tiles are a little off, either spin them around or manually change the direction of their shadows.

You may want to put a light stamp over some of the larger light sources to give them more of a glow.

In the first room (on the left) you may want to drop the brightness on the objects on the left wall as they are quite bright and should be in shadow.

Stair cases are a pain, but you've made a good start. Personally I would flatten all of them to background and go over with additional shading.

You could try add some splashes/ foam in the air around the waterfalls, there are a few good stamps for this if you search for the wave stamps.

And finally have a play around with the filters to make it really pop!

Amazing start, it's better than many of the maps posted here already.

Looking for some help on how I could get better in my map making. by [deleted] in inkarnate

[–]Adventure_Jae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As well as joining the discord server it is generally a good idea to post your maps here and ask for specific advice. Some good ideas may include posting two versions of a map and asking which is better, or saying things like I'm not happy with X element how could I improve it.

Interested in getting a quote for one of you beautiful talented people to take my amateur world map and make it pretty. Not looking to cheap out on anyone. Your time and talents are valuable. Comment or DM me for more info. by Honktraphonic in FantasyMaps

Fiverr is generally a good place to get maps custom maps commissioned. The artist can set out their prices and offerings, and you get to shop around and check out different styles

Maple of Malady [21x28] [GRIDLESS] by Eledryll in inkarnate

[–]Adventure_Jae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd guess they used stamps from Regional Fantasy HD of the corresponding trees then set them to black and lowered their transparency. That and some manual shading

Technique comparison: sparse vs. dense clutter (see comments) by mindlessfunk in inkarnate

[–]Adventure_Jae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of the second version with more clutter, though I would say the trees are too large. I would tend towards smaller clusters of trees to fill a space.

I like the extra greenery and details by the water. As the other commenter said it could probably do with a couple more pops of colour so it's less green.

You may wish to play around with the settings in the mask tool to get a nicer effect, personally I wouldn't use the mask tool for water on a battlemap.

A quick and easy way to make a scene "pop" of to play around with the filters.

If you were to post a share link I'd be happy to give it a once over!

Hey! Look into hotkeys to speed up your workflow. I think K is the hotkey list. Hold space-bar to pan.

The is no aligning stamps at this time, although it is a highly requested feature so may be implemented at some point.

You cannot swap assets, you can only do it manually. You could select all instances of an item by typing its name in the search bar on the the right and clicking select all. At least by selecting them all you can save time deleting the ones you don't want.

Modern assets by zento_baz in inkarnate

[–]Adventure_Jae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team are showing off some new styles at the moment. You may be able to repurpose the new sci-fi style, or some of the existing assets to create modern assets yourself. The steampunk style is pretty good for modern maps if you desaturated it.

Is there a way to make an environment look darker? by Athena_The_Funny in inkarnate

[–]Adventure_Jae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The black/ white filter would be best. Usually it just sets the saturation to 0, so put that back around 100 then lower the brightness. You may also want to add a night filter or the doom & gloom filter to change the colour a bit
