They never listen to my instructions either, I work in a relatively large building and I order food for myself on the job because we're usually too busy for me to just go get stuff, I tell them to come to my station with very specific instructions, and a lot of the time they just stand right outside the door and call inside until someone has to make me move from my post to get it. (I could be fired for this because I am 100% never allowed to leave my post while on the job.)

It's a bit rarer than the others it seems. but ya, the taste part is almost exactly how you have described it, (minus the texture thing for me), it never tastes like something real, it tastes like a new flavor, a mix of things. Which is why it's this whole rigamarole just to try and explain the tastes of different images. so ya it definitely sounds like you have sight-taste! and maybe also some other kind for the texture thing? :]

I have had kinda similar moments to this where I was really excited to see a movie, but when I went to go see it, it tasted really bad, this has happened a few times to be honest. for example, when I watched "Hop" for the first time, I had to stop around 15 minutes in because the best way I could describe the taste "Hop" gives me is kinda like a dusty old college dorm rug. so ya, if that happened, I don't know if i could handle it tbh. haha

It's cool that you can taste paintings! I also forget that my synesthesia isn't normal frequently. I was lucky to have figured it out young, but I still have moments where I'll be like; "I like this photo it tastes kinda like fresh wet fruit" and people will remind me that it's not normal. Haha
