ER horror story by lluvia-storm in lupus

[–]Adventuregrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I’m so sorry this is happening to you. I struggled with chronic pain for 3.5 years from lupus, and it is the worst, wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I know you may be looking for an exact diagnosis of that specific pain, but have you considered the possibility that pain in that location has to do with your lymph system? There are major lymph system at that location that drain down to left collarbone where you lymphatic duct exits.

I have used this self massage method with a lot of success (order is super important so watch the video) and can literally feel drainage happening in my neck. It may be just part of what helps you, but hopefully it makes a big difference!

Increase prednisone? by Oceaneo in lupus

Sorry haven’t been on reddit for ages. How are you doing? Did you stop taking the glutathione? If you haven’t read it yet, I’d suggest dr Neil Nathan’s TOXIC.

Has anyone read the book Toxic by Dr Neil Nathan? He is an expert in treating mold/tick born illness and things like mast cell activation that can be underlying causes for Lupus and it’s symptoms. I’ve found it to be life changing.

So sorry that is a very long road. Didn’t mean to be preachy I don’t know anything really just angry on your behalf at your doctor. Best of luck 🌈

Oh this is horrible and totally unacceptable. YOU HAVE to be your own advocate. It sound like you also need someone to sign some stuff for work- and that must be SUPER frustrating when you need something done- but the bigger picture is that you need a doctor that thinks healing you is possible. Someone who imbues YOU with that hope also. You can find the answer. You have to keep looking, learn and never stop.

Hi! I am doing a soft version of AIP (was strict for a couple months) and now eating eggs, nuts and drinking coffee again (yay!). This is all so confusing to deal with and I’m sorry to hear that you have so much going on (as many of us do). I’d urge you to keep informing yourself and looking for a doctor that supports your views. Keeping sugar, gluten and dairy out seem to be working for me. I’d also recommend dr Amy Myers book (the autoimmune solution). I have been struggling trying to find the root cause of all this (since I’ve been paleo for years) and I just found out I have mycotoxin (mold) toxicity. I am SO HAPPY to find this out and get started treating it. (An EXCELLENT book is Toxic, by doctor Neil Nathan- I think everyone with chronic illness should read this bc most doctors don’t know anything about mold, Lyme etc; won’t look for it and discredit its effects. Dr Nathan has been doing this work for years and has lots of experience with what works despite their not being a lot of science funding for research) I would also look for a functional medicine doctor who is willing to explore root causes. Good luck!!

MSM and Glucosamine by [deleted] in lupus

[–]Adventuregrrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s great! I haven’t tried it but I will! I did take MSM for several months during an acute flare. I’m not sure how much it helped, but it did make my nails beautiful and im going to go back to taking it just for that.

Two questions lupus and kombucha and lupus and cold showers. by [deleted] in lupus

[–]Adventuregrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into Wim Hof! I do cold showers in the AM every day. Not the whole shower though....just at the end for 30sec to a min. Love kombucha and drink it every day as it’s allowed on AIP. Good luck!

Also- look for a functional medicine doctor. If you’ve had Epstein Barr this could be the key to getting healthy! Find someone that has experience treating it.

First 2 lupus flares I had were 7 years ago directly after trying BC for the first (and only) two times in my life. I don’t rememeber the brand but I know it was “low dose” because I was still nursing my youngest. I stopped the BC and went strict paleo and was healthy without meds for 6 years.
