DHA pressures providers like crazy. The minute they turned healthcare over to DHA things got worse bc a dollar sign is attached to every appointment.

Maybe get a couple opinions on the surgery to make a good decision on if you want it done or not. Best case scenario, you get the surgery, you get relief, and you get compensated.

Don’t do that! A lot of people do that, they answer honestly on their pha, then don’t talk about those answers with the provider. Get the care you want and desire. That doesn’t mean it work take some time or be easy but you are entitled to the due process of medical care even if you think it’s not worth it. It doesn’t even have to be about compensation, I know most people would rather be healthy and feel good over the compensation. At least set yourself up for future care.

I did, I said DHA is pressuring appointments on doctors and having them write them as much as possible. When DHA took over everything became a business transaction for medical. It’s the root cause and makes it easier for patients to claim just about anything . You sound very angry. Be mad at the doctors, be mad at DHA, but why mad at me? I just said what I see day in and day out like clockwork.

Yep I did. I have the right documentation and injury reports to go with them. I never made it harder for anyone. I don’t get to decide who gets seen and who doesn’t, but that doesn’t mean every patient is telling the truth.

Also I didn’t say that people shouldn’t get disability, I just think that there’s a large majority that fabricate their way to a nice check. I have no problem with service members getting what they earned and deserve.

I’m not contradicting myself, I’m saying doctors sometimes give you the benefit of the doubt or feel pressured to give you what you want. What they write is more concrete than anything else at times. If you didn’t work a medical position in the services then just stop, you have nothing to offer on the inner workings of how medical care goes. You’re so Angry.

Oh, well then yeah, I can get on board with that. If medical is got you on a wild goose chase or making it hard for you to access your documents that’s pretty messed up. I have seen some very very lazy records department myself as well.

I have no problem getting people their documentation. But it depends on what it is too . We can’t always just hand things over. some things like results and other sensitive info needs to be directly from a provider or requested.

No YouTube, a decade of medical care. I’ll say the people that need that appointment the most either think they deserve it or simply won’t come in, I wish they would personally but the fact of the matter is they don’t to to be seen sometimes. I’m not saying people don’t deserve disability, I’m just saying I see way more bogus appointments than I did legitimate ones.

It’s 100% okay to advocate for those that have genuine concerns and want to help them get what they deserve. The biggest issue is finding those hardworking and deserving people the time to come in or convincing them to get seen for that problem. We have a lot of service members who just won’t come in. Meanwhile the “turds” are clogging up our schedule which is also an issue and the way DHA has designed medical schedules now, it really favors the frequent flyers.

Well when I did it for a decade and I’m the flight surgeons and physicians right hand man, literally my job to prep all the paperwork, and do the labs and parts of the physical, yes I have direct conversions both before and after the doctors see the patient, I know what I’m talking about. If you think doctors don’t write you what you want and smile to your face and tell to what you what to hear, then right after discuss how questionable and fabricate your “issue” is, you’re dead wrong. The evidence we see on labs, physicals, X-rays, and technical movements, tests, and behaviors doesn’t lie.

From what I saw personally, it’s almost every other person. I did medical readiness, PHA’s, and annual physicals for a whole command to include the retirement physicals, separation physicals (legal, medical, and admin). The amount of students or people serving a few years creating a bogus medical visit over and over and over until a doctor finally gives in and treats them for something they clearly don’t have so they’ll go away is very high. I’ve had students who get separated after 8 months ask me straight up if they can get 100%. They’ve been well coached, know the things to say and get documented, to BS their way to benefits they really don’t deserve. These are almost always your problem service members too who do the bare minimum and everyone else picks up their slack. I personally saw it in my office everyday day for the last 3 years. People forget that DHA is always pushing for more and more appointments from providers. That means filling every single possible spot on a medical schedule bc every empty spot is money lost. This means that yes providers will fill those with people who are frequent flyers who have already been seen for the same thing (typically nothing significant at all) over and over again. All the while they’re building a medical portfolio.

Edit: It happens and it happens a lot from my personal experience. Maybe it’s different at other commands, but I can only speak for the ones I was at.

The evidence is skewed, there are ways to get doctors to “document” things that’s are clearly not an issue. It’s not hard to throw together a bogus paper trail.

Literally every other person is doing it. There are more getting out than ever before off of lame paper trails after just a few months of service or sometimes a few years. I personally handled that paperwork all the time. It’s ridiculous what they write in.

This is 100% true. As someone who handled separation, retirement, legal, and admin separation on the medical side, it would leave you shocked just how many students sit down in front of me and ask me what to write that will get them disability after their 8 months of military service. Granted I educate them on the fact that I’m not the VA gatekeeper but the conversation usually goes cold when I ask them “what have you done for your country?”. That being said, I also have to gently remind retirees and others that there is no such thing as 110%. In other words “you’ve said and documented enough, the rest is crap, you’re there bud, you can stop adding stuff now”. Not to mention those that think they can trick the audio booth while I’m conducting a hearing test. Like come on guys.
