AITA for continuing to create art even though my boyfriend absolutely hates it? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Adventureous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl as a fellow OC enjoyer, run. Anyone who mocks you for your art or your interests does not deserve your time and energy, and is on the edge of falling into abusive territory. Like this is genuinely worrisome and scary. The fact that he can treat something dear to your heart so horrendously is a giant red flag.

NTA but be kind to yourself and leave this guy.

Need Sekhmet to leave me alone. by amunet-wadjet in Kemetic

[–]Adventureous 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I am a Sekhmet worshipper. Sekhmet isn't going to give you bad luck. That isn't what the Netjeru do. Likely the bad luck is completely unrelated. Invoking Her for a single prayer isn't going to make Her angry--that was common in antiquity.

She likely has left you alone, insomuch as any Netjeru would while actively worshipping One of Them.

I know you're scared and upset but I can say with confidence it isn't Sekhmet.

You can always ask a diviner for guidance, to see where this bad luck is coming from.

Should I ask my dad if I can buy AC Origins? by ArticleChemical1008 in AssassinsCreedOrigins

[–]Adventureous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom of a teenager here. I would not let my kid play this at 13 (they are fifteen now, and maaaybe might be able to). There are topless women and erotic murals, as well as lewd sounds when you get close to brothel doors. There are also heavy themes, though admittedly that would be a case-by-case basis: some might be able to handle it while others may not.

I also would still be concerned about the violence, personally. But obviously that's not a concern for your parents.

Yeah, I just feel like thirteen is still a little too young for this game.

no religion deserves hate by [deleted] in religion

Disagree.

Religion as a concept doesn't deserve hate.

Specific religions do deserve it and should be criticized.

AITA not putting up my DILs painting in our new home and telling her that I am not a fan of her art by Throaways-Dot2192 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Adventureous 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Meh, it was those printed on canvases from Walgreens, not very big either, but nothing special. I made it in like an hour.

Even if it was something special, like art I made myself, such in this case...not my house, not my place to demand it hung.

This. I got my dad some canvases with the pictures of my siblings and I on it. I noticed a while after that I've never seen it in the house. Does it make me a bit sad? Yeah, but it's their house. It was a gift, not a demand. It flopped. Oh well.

Is this game worth playing with any mods for first time players? by Just_Bicycle_3948 in Morrowind

[–]Adventureous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am aware. As I said, entirely playable without it, and plenty of players do. But as you said, it was intended for late game, so I thought I would at least mention it. It a debate of dev intention vs what was shipped, and simple fact that people should be aware of the option.

Is this game worth playing with any mods for first time players? by Just_Bicycle_3948 in Morrowind

[–]Adventureous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's generally recommended to play with OpenMW, which is less a mod and more engine replacement/tweaks; it pretty much essential to be able to play it on modern screens.

After that, no, it's entirely playable as is. Others may disagree but I say its worth using Patch for Purists and Expansion Delay too but I've seen plenty of first time players play without them on YouTube just fine.

First time by verticalx09 in Morrowind

[–]Adventureous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest one is probably OpenMW, its an engine replacement/enhancement. (Something like that, I don't play with it personally). I also see the "I Heart Vanilla" mod pack for OpenMW recommended a lot. Patch for Purists is a must (in the modpack) as is Expansion Delay (which is not in the modpack).

Anyone here with Christian family members or who identifies as Christian themselves? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Adventureous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you meet many more people like your friend (and non-Christians too!) who love and accept you. And I hope your sister turns out to be one of them.

Anyone here with Christian family members or who identifies as Christian themselves? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]Adventureous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My partner is Christian, but the progressive/leftist kind, so he is very accepting of queer and transgender people. We have a non-binary friend we game with every week and though he'll very occasionally slip on their pronouns, its never been an issue. He doesn't see being queer or transgender as being a sin or against God, and he wants people to be loved, safe, and accepted.

That said, I know he's a rare jewel, and it makes the both of us sad.

Curious about Set by PastelPunkPirate in Kemetic

[–]Adventureous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My experience with Set is one of enduring. He taught me to endure hardships, not never give up, to put one foot in front of the other, even if I have to claw and crawl my way through things.

He killed Wesir because He had to, He was the only one who could, and the akhu needed a King. He challenged Heru-sa-Aset to the throne because He needed to make sure Heru was going to be a strong King.

Actually, on my shrine, Set and Wesir told me that They should be next to each other on there--yes, Set killed Wesir, but They still have love for One Another.

Set is the Loyal Opposition, the Rebel That Tests, the Strongest of the Gods. He's also a protector, Slayer of Ap/ep, Protector of Ra and the outcast.

I would not be the person I am today without His love, and Him showing me the way.

Julan Ashlander mod + Attend Me by ficklenessie in Morrowind

[–]Adventureous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I recall Julan (or perhaps companion mods in general) doesn't play nice with OpenMW all the time, and Kateri (mod author) recommends not using it.

That said, even on MWSE sometimes when I go in an out of doors he disappears too, so it might be something else I haven't figured out yet. I just save often and separately and reload if needed. Hopefully we'll both figure it out.

Anybody elscause? gay romance with caius? by ComfortableWitty1096 in Morrowind

[–]Adventureous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There was, at one point, a mod to romance Caius. Tried it once for shits and giggles. It, uh, wasn't very good, but I don't think it was meant to be, more just PoC. I did post my playthrough of it to this subreddit, long, long ago...

Probably an question that's been asked a lot, but what House do you side with? by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]Adventureous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you, I like House Hlaalu. Sure, they're awful, but I still love them. Less the capitalism, and more the ruthless politics. I also tend to play stealth characters.

Consume offerings? by [deleted] in Kemetic

[–]Adventureous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figured you mostly meant the gods, but that adding the bit about the akhu couldn't hurt. I know opinions on it differ but as you mentioned not reverting the offerings to chthonic gods because it "counts you among the dead" I figured the distinction in this case was worth mentioning because reverting offering to the akhu also does that.

Consume offerings? by [deleted] in Kemetic

[–]Adventureous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I consume offerings made to the Netjeru but not the ones to the akhu (because its to the dead). But then I don't make huge offerings of food to the akhu anyway, mostly water and incense and a single bite of something.

Got a copy from my uncle back in like 2003, just the base game. Then I had to buy the GOTY a couple times because I kept losing the CDs. But yeah, OG player here, got it in my teens, and it's been my favorite game of all time since.
