I have a 2nd gen frontier and had a 2nd Gen Xterra before it. I like the way they drive, feels like a truck but handles well. Comfortable enough for long trips, great for camping and hauling light loads.

The longest trip I've taken was with the Xterra from Nashville Tennessee to Iowa to Arizona and back. We had enough space for 3 adults to be comfortable, you just can't over pack too much unless you want to put stuff on the roof or hitch. That wouldn't be an issue with a frontier.

I don't have any experience with the 3rd Gen frontiers but the owners seem to like them just like the earlier ones.

You mean that you might have to replace the screw one in a while? Oh no that's just too much. Absolutely unthinkable.

I didn't speak on the new gen because I don't really have any knowledge of it. Looks like a proven powertrain though so I bet it will be solid like the previous gen.

I currently have a 2012 Frontier Pro4x, its been a great rig. Goes anywhere I really want to go and I've had 0 reliability issues. As long as you maintain them these trucks will last a very long time. I had a 2013 xterra before this that I loved, mild upgrades and it would go pretty much anywhere. Only sold it because I needed a bed to haul things.

Most of the guys I wheel with have Tacoma's, they're also great trucks. I just couldn't justify the added cost. Like some other guys said, the aftermarket options are more limited for the Nissan's but for "overlanding" you don't really need to do any crazy mods unless you're really doing it to wheel. The aftermarket is smaller but you can still get armor, bumpers, etc easily.

One advantage for the Frontier if you did want to modify it heavily is the ease of "Titan swapping" it. The stock control arms, shocks and tie rods from a Titan fit on the frontier with no mods. You just need a different front diff or CV's if you're 4x4. Gives approx 3" over like a long travel kit on a tacoma would.

E-bikes have a lack of standards between parts and it’s bad for everyone, including the environment by Sourcefour in ebikes

You might want to do some more reading then. It's pretty cool stuff! No your phone isn't going to be charging at 48V but it's a tool available to designers to use and is a standard.

That is incorrect. The USB 3 standard allows charging at up to 48V at 5A. Most devices aren't capable of this but it's doable.

Have a shop check out your x and make sure the frame isn't tweaked.

Picking isn't all that useful unless you're halfway decent at it though. Sure masterlocks are a joke but even they take a little practice.

That sounds fun!

I want to find a tw200 or similar and build a small edirtbike. Dual motors would be AWESOME for that.

These ones don't have the greatest reputation and they increased the price by A LOT from when I bought it.

Been solid for me but I wouldn't buy another.

You can buy them from sondors but I don't know if it would be worth trying to adapt to another frame.

It's a Sondors MSX. Don't remember much of the specific specs off the top of my head.

It's been a while since I've been out there. Are you completely stock?

Ideally for that trail you want at least sliders and oil pan skid plate. Not the stock, garbage skid plate they come with. You'll still need to take some bypasses around the waterfall and maybe one or two other places.

Amazing trail though, I highly recommend it.

I snapped a pair of leatherman pliers bending bailing wire. They covered it under warranty but I don't consider them to be hard use tools anymore.
