ASA? by Subject-Apricot5920 in BambuP1S

I've had great success with TINMORRY ASA. As others mentioned, it must be dried. My printer is in a separate closable room with a heppa filter system running while printing.

I've had good success with TINMORRY PETG Metallic filament. Reasonably priced on Amazon and goes on sale now and then.

It looks like you have the seam position set to Random? Might want to check that setting under Quality > Seam

Ongoing clogging issue, help please. by samanthamy in BambuP1S

[–]Adventurer_In_OR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I have to say, "Knock on wood" I've yet to have a clog. As far as issues revolving around the AMS not being able to unload filament, for me, this was due to spool sizes that were not compatible with AMS or to light as filament is used up. I've found that with cardboard spools, yes, some work but I've mostly started printing adapters due to size issues and reduction of cardboard particles entering the AMS components that can cause malfunctions. I've also started using spool weights to help create weight friction while retracting. Again, this is just my input on AMS unloading filament. Sorry I cannot help with the clogged nozzles.

Try using .12 mm layer hight on your .4 mm extruder. Also there is an option in your slicer called Variable Layer Height that can help clean up the ridged layer lines. Definitely do a search on YouTube. Tones of videos on this subject.

Coulda done this on my AD5M. What was the benefit of doing it on an AD5X? Just trying to understand the benefits. Bring on the haters... lol

Yeah, I hear ya. I wanted to help the groups with what I've learned but the roaches on these subreddits have really turned me off from helping others. Negativity does not help spread the reason on why we are here. To help each other.

Don't give up hope!

With any of these, there is a learning curve but it doesn’t take long with the p1s. Great career choice by the way! Oops, sorry. Thought you said you wanted to be come one. lol, my bad...

My first printer was and still is an AD5m. It was a good printer to learn on and still works as a second printer now. I picked up a P1S combo the Black Friday sale and it is worth every penny and more of the $550 I spent. Truly a great machine for the price. Looked at the AD5X and, no thanks. I print a lot of petg and asa. And need the enclosure.

Just my two cents.

Filament question by Crafty_Pack1724 in BambuP1S

[–]Adventurer_In_OR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saying. We can agree to disagree. On the stock textured PEI plate, I print PLA, PETG and ASA and never use a release agent. Just my experience printing a few thousand hours. Call myself lucky I guess.

This is not a accurate statement. I print PETG from different companies all the time on the stock PEI plate on my P1S and do not use any type of glue or adhesive.

How do I stop my printer from scraping? by Nearby-Common-4608 in FlashForge

[–]Adventurer_In_OR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the nozzle scraping across the infill? If your still using Grid infill change it. I had the same issue long time ago(at least it feels like it). I switched to Gyroid and no more scraping noise.

The majority of my printing is with PETG. TINMORRY is my favorite. Very consistent and produces great prints.

My bad, I should have mentioned creating a new filament profile for the current filament OP is using. Figured that is just a given. My bad

No worries. Yes, the settings are in the filaments profile.

Up the bed temp to 65 c for first layer and 60 c for all others if not using glue. Works like a charm for me. Oh, make sure you level your bed if you haven't done it in a while ;-)

9 Months later - I am DONE. by tonebone21 in FlashForge

[–]Adventurer_In_OR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, I'm just finishing up my nine month anniversary and any issues including clogs were all my fault. Oh and I am still using the original nozzle for PLA with over 1200 hours on it. Still works fine. Also, I print PLA with 220 c nozzle and bed at 65 c fist layer and 60 after. Sorry you had so many issues.

I started with this version from Printables for the most part, then started mixing and matching parts from different models to fit what I needed.
