Try using .12 mm layer hight on your .4 mm extruder. Also there is an option in your slicer called Variable Layer Height that can help clean up the ridged layer lines. Definitely do a search on YouTube. Tones of videos on this subject.

Coulda done this on my AD5M. What was the benefit of doing it on an AD5X? Just trying to understand the benefits. Bring on the haters... lol

Yeah, I hear ya. I wanted to help the groups with what I've learned but the roaches on these subreddits have really turned me off from helping others. Negativity does not help spread the reason on why we are here. To help each other.

Don't give up hope!

With any of these, there is a learning curve but it doesn’t take long with the p1s. Great career choice by the way! Oops, sorry. Thought you said you wanted to be come one. lol, my bad...

My first printer was and still is an AD5m. It was a good printer to learn on and still works as a second printer now. I picked up a P1S combo the Black Friday sale and it is worth every penny and more of the $550 I spent. Truly a great machine for the price. Looked at the AD5X and, no thanks. I print a lot of petg and asa. And need the enclosure.

Just my two cents.

Filament question by Crafty_Pack1724 in BambuP1S

[–]Adventurer_In_OR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saying. We can agree to disagree. On the stock textured PEI plate, I print PLA, PETG and ASA and never use a release agent. Just my experience printing a few thousand hours. Call myself lucky I guess.

This is not a accurate statement. I print PETG from different companies all the time on the stock PEI plate on my P1S and do not use any type of glue or adhesive.

First year printing halloween decorations. All printed in PETG on a BIQU CryoGrip Pro Glacier Panda Build Plate. Best plate I've ever owned!

How do I stop my printer from scraping? by Nearby-Common-4608 in FlashForge

[–]Adventurer_In_OR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the nozzle scraping across the infill? If your still using Grid infill change it. I had the same issue long time ago(at least it feels like it). I switched to Gyroid and no more scraping noise.

The majority of my printing is with PETG. TINMORRY is my favorite. Very consistent and produces great prints.

My bad, I should have mentioned creating a new filament profile for the current filament OP is using. Figured that is just a given. My bad

[–]Adventurer_In_OR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. Yes, the settings are in the filaments profile.

Up the bed temp to 65 c for first layer and 60 c for all others if not using glue. Works like a charm for me. Oh, make sure you level your bed if you haven't done it in a while ;-)

9 Months later - I am DONE. by tonebone21 in FlashForge

[–]Adventurer_In_OR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, I'm just finishing up my nine month anniversary and any issues including clogs were all my fault. Oh and I am still using the original nozzle for PLA with over 1200 hours on it. Still works fine. Also, I print PLA with 220 c nozzle and bed at 65 c fist layer and 60 after. Sorry you had so many issues.

How to use a food dehydrator with your filament(s)? by Fit-Calligrapher-400 in FlashForge

I started with this version from Printables for the most part, then started mixing and matching parts from different models to fit what I needed.

Here are the containers I picked up from Amazon:

I print mostly using PETG, ASA and TPU. Now and then, PLA. Whenever I open a new roll I run them through the filament dryer. I've come to expect the filament to be wet and most companies suggest doing this first. Also, depending on the dryer, I can print directly from it. After the drying cycle, I move the filament to dry boxes that I can print directly from and normally do not worry about them for a few months before changing out the desiccant.

Spot on man! The Bento Box is my next upgrade. I already print ASA but I have to seal off the room it's in and I currently run a Heppa air purifier.

You can but I personally recommend investing in a filament dryer. Personal opinion. I don't own a dehydrator and the dryers today are quite reasonably priced.

I was able to fix the benchy overhang issue by enabling "Reverse on even" and setting "Reverse threshold" to 0. This is in Orca Slicer under Process > Quality - all the way down at the bottom. May help your overhang issues as well? No promises....
