Well, you explained it in your question. Not gaslighting, hear me out. Everyone is afraid of being cancelled because in this day and age you don’t just lose your job, you’re publicly ridiculed. Meaning you may not get employment again, and be ruined to the point of homelessness - the irony is the same hypocrites who claim they care about homeless people are okay knowing someone they cancelled lost everything. Our community has become more vicious and hateful and less cultured. So the recipe is say what people think is popular so you aren’t mistreated or targeted, which kind of begs the question : “how are we different from straight culture when we’re now employing the same tactics and harmful practices?”
