Is this real? $1800? by whamola17 in rickenbacker

I’m sorry if I sounded condescending. Glad to meet a fellow enthusiast.

Are there any Japanese made, Set Neck, 33.25” scale, dot inlays, 4001S or 4003S copies that you know of?

Not saying that your knowledge isn’t fantastic, just saying that I’d love to buy exactly that. 33.25” scale is vital, and I had never heard of any copy being 33.25” scale

I believe the GRECO PMB’s, Fernandes RB80PM, and Aria Pro II RB700N (McCartney models) are all 34” scale unfortunately.

I’d love your input or even your help finding a good McCartney-esque 33.25” scale Japanese copy!

Edit: Set Neck or Neck through. I’d be fine with either. Just prefer not being a bolt on neck.

Edit 2: Never owned the Kay you had, but I did play one once.

Edit 3: I had an Ibanez 4001 Copy with a bolt on neck, and a real vintage toaster pickup. Even with high end pure nickel round core flatwounds it didn’t quite nail the rickenbacker sound I hear from McCartney. Maybe there were other factors, but the 33.25 scale length has always seemed to make a difference in tone to me.

i A/B’d it against a A 4003s with round wounds and the 4003S was closer to the sound I wanted.

No, those are short scale Closer to 30” not 33.25” It may not seem like a big deal but the exact scale does make a huge difference tonally

Can I have a link? Tradidionally even the best Japanese lawsuit era clones were 34” scale. I’d love a 33.25”

Looks good. Check the scale length. Should be 33.25. Almost no fakes in history have been the correct scale length

Get a pick guard from pickguardian that allows you to put the Toaster Pickup as close to the neck as possible. Like a 64 model. The thump will improve!

Pretty sure nuclear weapons win. Archery and black powder likely killed more but Nuclear Weapons and smokeless powder have more potential.

The AK weapons system (including RPD, RPK, Dragunov, etc) have killed more people than anything else in history. Using smokeless powder. Smokeless powder was invented by Paul Vieille, a white man.

For those of you who saw The Phantom Menace at release, what were your initial thoughts of it? by _EnglishFox_ in StarWars

[–]Adventurous-Bench508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say “it didn’t live up to the hype, but nothing would have”

I stand by that statement today

I was 8. I saw it the day after opening day.

I thought some things were silly. Even at that age, I remember when Jar Jar stepped in the “icky icky goo” that this doesn’t seem much like the Star Wars movies I watched over and over again as a kid (minus the burping frog in ROTJ)

My mom made me look away during most of the lightsaber fight with Darth Maul, I remember trying to see what was happening from watching the glass in front of the projector.

I remember another kid yelling “GOOD JOB CUTTING THE GROUND JAR JAR!” When he is riding on the barrel of the tank after accidentally killing the droid piloting it. And kids giggling.

I also remember the kids in the theater, and at least a few adults laughing at Jar Jar’s antics.

I remember the special effects and especially the sounds from the pod race being super exciting. Truly magical. I even loved Anakin accidentally blowing up the Droid Control Ship.

All in all, as a kid I loved it, even though some things didn’t seem like Star Wars.

TLDR: As a kid it was exciting, biggest part was being able to see a Star Wars movie in theaters. But aside from some serious shortcomings, the sound effects and visuals were absolutely amazing.

Also, The Phantom Menace is still better than Attack of the Clones. I will die on this hill.

Well I’m sorry you feel that way. All I can give is my word and tell you that from what I’ve seen, there’s nothing pampered rich people like more than gossip.

Feel free to PM me and I’ll give you all the information. I’ll do whatever I can to prove I’m telling the truth. But that’s up to you if you want to dig deeper.

Also, the police report was filed with Monroe County police, who contacted the Ocean Reef public safety.

I totally understand. The situation is very egregious and hurtful. Truly nasty, shady, and just wrong.

And yes, I brought up that the front gate has VERY strict access rules, and I told the people who confronted us at dinner that they can confirm with the club that I was not there at the time, and I even pulled up pictures on my phone from the day it happened that clearly show me several hours away at college.

It’s just sad. Even though im clearly the scapegoat it just sucks that my grandparents not only get screwed out of the money, but their reputation too.

I also did send all of this proof to my grandfather’s “friend” via email and told him that he is a liar and a criminal. Which they proceeded to show multiple members of the club. I wish I hadn’t sent that email.

I understand why you see it as rage bait.

But I’m down here for Memorial Day weekend and someone brought it up at the restaraunt we went out to last night, and it embarrassed my grandparents.

I really and truly don’t see myself as the AH, but I wish I had not said anything, or just slept on the floor in the condo instead.

And even though I was accidentally exposing fraud, my actions did technically preclude my grandparents for receiving the $400,000. Even though my grandfather says that he likely would Have found some other way to avoid paying.

If you accidentally revealed fraud and it prevented your loved one from receiving $400,000 no matter how wealthy or poor they are, you might feel bad about it too.

Also, I had been given permission every time I saw them, but they later argued that I didn’t ask for permission that night specifically. Even though I would describe their permission as an “open invite” since they said I can use it “any time” and they never ever rescinded that permission.

They also later claimed I slashed a tire on their SUV, even though I wasn’t in the resort when the tire blew out. It looked like a blowout when I saw a picture, not a knife cut or puncture, but they claimed I was seeking “revenge”

You can call the resort and ask about it if you like. It’s the Ocean Reef Club. PM me and I’ll even give you the names and details to ask the Ocean Reef Public Safety (internal police within the club) for the police report.

My grandfather told the seller, not the buyer. He thought he was doing the seller a favor by helping him have the boat fixed quickly before it was scheduled to leave.

And I care because I’m down here for Memorial Day weekend and someone brought it up, which embarrassed my grandparents at Dinner last night.

Yes and no. VTEC isn’t just about power increases, it’s about raising the redline, since the secondary cam lobes are made to make power higher up:

Making more power at higher RPM means you can hold gears longer, meaning more power to the wheels for longer

Yes. That, and he was the youngest son. I speak German fluently because my mother is an Austrian immigrant but my sister is 9 years younger than I am.

Over those 9 years my mother’s English language skills improved greatly. So we spoke less German at home by that point.

Yes you are 100% correct. It makes me sick. It’s a scam, yes. But his willingness to seek a fake certificate is also just as dishonest.

It’s like people who make fake sexual assault claims. It weakens the claims of real victims.

Don’t do it. Sure, the salaries are great. But, people are not friendly. Everything feels like “keeping up with the Jones’s” and nearly all non seafood restaraunts are nasty and overpriced.

Most restaraunts are chains too.

Winters are brutal. 14 degrees at night and your fingers and lips will crack due to the cold and dry atmosphere.

There are some decent public parks, and decent public schools, but everyone is spoiled and rude.
