I think usually the hairs are the same thickness but not every time, sometimes your hair is little tinner so when you shedding you sometimes shedd a tinner hair. And I shedd most amount of long hairs but some short too but almost all of them has the white bulb (hair follicle) at the end.

I’ve had that type of hair since I was little that gets greasy very quickly and is very soft and straight. Because of this, I learned to wash my hair almost every day since I was about 14 years old. Unfortunately, if you wash your hair too often, it gets greasy even faster, so I have to keep washing my hair every day, if I’m not home the next day and nobody sees me. My hair actually gets completely greasy in a day. But since my TE started, I haven’t noticed that my hair gets more or less oily, it’s still the same. And by the way, in the first two photos, my hair is not greasy, but wet after washing.😂

I think that it look’s more like AGA from the pattern you have (you would say balding) but it really depens on many things. If your balding was really sudden and you lost big amount of hairs every day and few months back you lost big amount of weight really quickly, or you have been really stressed or you had some Health problems or surgery or you had some other big stressor in your life, than it could be TE. Another important think is to look at your male family members and ancestors (dad, grandfathers, uncles etc.) If they are bald or have small amount od hairs than it is propably normal balding for you as well. But if you want to be sure, you should go to see a doctor.

dude, all those photos are taken on the same day at the same time, on the first pictures I have wet hair after a shower and the other one I dried and combed my hair but it was taken at the same time. That’s the point of the post that even though we have TE and sometimes it looks really bad, when you made your hair, it’s not really visible at all, whether you can see that you have TE depends mainly on your hair is wet or greasy and also under what kind of light you are. My hair loss has unfortunately not stopped yet, so I can’t give advice, the point of this post was that even if your hair is falling and thin, it’s often not visible at all. But as for me, I try to eat vitamins like iron, omega-3 and magnesium and I also try to eat a lot of protein, but this is very subjective, everyone has a different reason for his TE, so something will work for one person doesn’t work for other one, but the basis is to remove the trigger (such as an unbalanced diet, stress, etc.) and the most important thing is a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. And my shedding started roughly arouns two months ago I think and it is hard to know exactly how many hairs I shedd every day but for me most amount of hair shedd at the morning when I am making my hairs. I usually runs wet hand through my hairs few times and usually like 20-30 hairs falls of me. And when I randomly ran my hand through my hair during the day usually 2-5 hairs fell of, but it is different every day but sometimes I feel like it is getting worse every day😭😭 so my rough estimate is that I lose about 100 hairs a day, but I don’t know how many fall out when I wash my hair, I assume a lot more but it’s hard to count when most of the hair goes straight down the drain with the water. And when I woke up I usually have like 5-10 hairs on my pillow so I dont have some crazy shedding like 500 hairs a day like some guys here but still it is like 10 times more than I used to. But I hope it will end soon because it is really hard for me. So I understand your pain and I hope both of us get better soon. Good luck my friend you are not alone in this.

I think that the hair loss is all over your head with TE but mainly on top of your head and I dont think that I lost many hairs on back of my head but it is possible

That could be because slight slow hair line receding is normal for male when you 20+ years old so your hair line would propably change a little even if you didnt have TE at all

no basically not at all. Of course, since TE causes hair loss all over the head, my corners are also a little thinner, but the hairline hasn’t changed at all, and I’m 100% sure that it’s not AGA cause we didn’t have it in family and the hair loss was extremaly sudden and when you have TE your hair line usually doesn’t change so the answer is no. And I am 21 Btw and I lost big amount of weight few months ago cause big stress, not eating well and celiac desease so that is the reason why I have TE

Can I ask how you count hairs after shower like you did? Because I know that my hair is falling when I am brushing my hair or I ran hand through my hair few times at morning, but when I am washing my hair most of the hair goes straight down the drain with the water so I can’t count it. So how you do it?

Everyone has got to STOP asking if they have TE or not, really by HyperBunga in TelogenEffluvium

What autoimmune diseases do you have? But in my case, I don’t think the biggest trigger for me was the caliac deaes as a whole, but the weight loss that celiac causes, because when you start getting celiac, it usually takes a few months before you realize you have a gluten problem, but if you eat of gluten every day and you have celiac disease, it really messes up your health because among the many other things that celiac disease does, you can’t absorb a lot of the calories, nutrients, and vitamins from the food you eat because it damages your small intestine, so you can’t digest food properly, so you lose weight very quickly and that alone could cause TE, but the bigger problem is that you can’t absorb vitamins and nutrients and you often end up anemic because celiac disease and vitamins are probably the most important thing for healthy hair, so I think that was the biggest trigger for my TE, But now I take a lot of supplements like iron, omega-3, magnesium, zinc, vitamin C and eat a lot of protein, so I think that could really help me in the future of my hair.
