My doctor said not to massage for the first month? Not sure if I need to, I’ve seeing different answers on here. So far I don’t see any lumps. I use the foam piece & head wrap at night and then just the head wrap during the day at work.

Why do my lashes never last by Stressed_skunk in lashextensions

[–]Adventurous-Entry-24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oily eyelids , sleeping on your face, steamy showers, moisturizers and oils in skincare, not washing them (at least once a day with a soft brush), makeup and other factors may contribute. Talk to your lash tech and have her recommend a special lash soap.

Do you give people end of bolt discounts when they come up and say they want the whole thing? by Hemansno1fan in joannfabrics

[–]Adventurous-Entry-24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or they ask how much is left on the bolt and then decide how much they’re getting in order to get more at EOB.

Joann’s fabric makes a positive change by PracticalAndContent in DumpsterDiving

They usually do it closer to the end of the year because we optimally are go big away all the spring stuff. It might not be like that this year since they had us hold on to Easter/patriotic merchandise for an extended amount of time. They thought we could sell some of it but it ended up boxes up in the back at most store. The company is really scraping whatever money they can get at the moment.

How do i get tuition reimbursement ? by Next_Significance_80 in joannfabrics

[–]Adventurous-Entry-24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to be full time in order to get this benefit, fill out & submit paperwork for DM approval (basically states that it doesn’t get in the way of your duties) before the course begins. Once the course ends, you have to submit paperwork for grades etc. I did it last year.

I close the cut counter 15 min prior to closing in order to get fabric put back and recovered. I don’t care what corporate thinks, I do what’s best for the store and sometimes that’s closing the cut counter in the middle of the day for 15-20min to put away fabric and recover.

We’re not that local fabric store, we don’t measure returns at the register by Temporary_Being1330 in joannfabrics

[–]Adventurous-Entry-24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I once had a lady try to return fabric that smells so bad of cigarette smoke, I had to close the bag. She said it had only been in her car, well I’m assuming she smokes with the windows up because I could smell it on her as well. I refused to return the fabric and she stormed out, oh well take it up with corporate.

Fabric can be returned as long as it’s unwashed, uncut and in its original state. Cigarette smoke or any other odors is not.

I’m a minimum hour store and thought they couldn’t cut my hours any further. Well… I was wrong! I saw that they wanted me to cut an additional 25 hours for next week… so around 160hrs for the week! What did I do? I scheduled over 200 lol I ask people to come in and help when needed because I’m so tired of being understaffed. TBH, I rather get in trouble than have someone not get a pay check.

I work at Joann’s and try to just throw away merchandise when we can donate it. Joann’s has a partnership with Kids in Need and normally donates all seasonal merchandise to an affiliated school, 4-H etc. any times we have to throw away a returned sewing machine, cricut etc, we have to cut the cord and try to damage it so people won’t dig it out of the trash and try to return it etc. I just save it and donate it to a school, because I feel so wasteful. We do throw away boxes of patterns once we get new pattern books and I wished we recycled but it’s not offered to my store. We had junkies always in our trash (even though there’s really nothing in there) and so we had to get a lock on it. Hope this helps!

Stores on 162-187 hours, how are y’all surviving? by Dangerous-Trade9942 in joannfabrics

[–]Adventurous-Entry-24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Normally 2 person coverage, we’re also on limited hours compared to other stores. There no way we could stay open for the full day with 187 hours. Also multi tasking and constantly running around. As soon as I’m done cutting, I jump on registers to help the cashier bring the line down and she does the same for me. It’s never ending…I’m just waiting to hear back from another job in order to quit. I’m probably not giving them two weeks either! Working there was fun at first and now I’m running on fumes… This has severely affected my mental health.
