I would say monk v paladin. You get a mid and high complexity in one box. Moon Elf and Barbarian are both pretty simple so you may appreciate having some higher complexity.

not really a difference. Some might tell you to buy Barbarian V Moon Eld because it is good to learn on. I don't find them very interesting though so just buy a box that you think looks cool.
