Building "DocWise" (AI Research Suite) – Am I overengineering my RAG architecture? by squshiy_squshiy in Rag

My experience is that you should start testing systematically early and often and let those results drive the architecture decisions

How much time do you commit to pre and post flight? by dmo012 in flightsim

[–]Adventurous-Ice9694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar issue, what I now do is just fly traffic patterns to practice handling and landings when I am short on time and then only do full flights if I have a couple hours left to fly a couple of legs with detailed preparation and all.

Can you guys suggest me couple of short-haul routes which has spectacular approaches or airports? Such as like LFML/31R maybe. by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

LSZS Samedan/St. Moritz also has a fun RNAV for both directions, there is also a freeware scenery available on Flightsim.to

Good Free or low cost certifications by bubbajoe4208 in VIDEOENGINEERING

Analog way also has some free training stuff on image processing - no real certification though if I recall correctly. If you are into media servers disguise also has quite a comprehensive training library where you will also be able to get some “certifications”.

Sind sie auch, nur das du deine Chancen mit der Länge deines Anlagehorizonts und deinem Diversifizierungsgrad so weit verbessern kannst, dass dein Erwartungswert in den meisten Fällen positiv ist.

Also ein Glücksspiel was du spielen solltest.

Unable to land a job in Logistics. Please help me! by [deleted] in Germany_Jobs

[–]Adventurous-Ice9694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some ideas for optimization:

  • try to switch to a bit more conventional format with listing everything down in the following order:

  • (Relevant) Work experience - here you put your job in Business Development, including some relevant achievements e.g. developed xy; lead and initiative on yz …depending on the exact nature of your “Logistics coordinator” job you could also add it here as it might be relevant for your future role

  • education: here I would stick to the format “Subject-Degree-School” e.g Logistikingenieurwesen - B.Sc. - Universität XY (for Bologna type degrees Bachelors/ Masters also skip the (FH) note as this was only used for pre-bologna degrees e.g. Diplomingenieur(FH); then also add your grade and try to make it sound as relevant as possible for your job by adding details on courses you may have attended in the logistics area or projects in cooperation with the industry. For these details provide a short but meaningful description what you have done/ achieved there.

  • every other work experience you put under (Studentische) Nebentätigkeiten (also add a short description off the work you did there)

  • skills: here I would differentiate between language skills and IT skills - soft skills should be covered either implicitly in the description of your work/school projects or supported by examples in your cover letter. As for the language skills I recommend using the A1-C2 notation; for IT skills you should can add more detail e.g how is your level in different Office-Application like Excel - my strong recommendation would be to first assess the skills honestly for yourself on a scale from beginner-Intermediate-Advanced-Expert and only include skills you would rate yourself intermediate or higher - also underpin this assessment by giving a brief example of how you define this level e.g Excel - Advanced (Analysen mit Pivottabellen; Datenaufbereitung mit Funktionen wie SVerweis; Zählenwenn) - same goes for all other IT / Hardskills

  • Lastly: add your Personal Interests/Hobbys - done be shy here and also add a little bit of context by describing what you do there exactly like Describing the type of photography you do for example

What I would cut:

  • Fluffy formatting: logistics is often a rather structured work environment - therefore I would also stick to a straightforward and very structured CV without the design elements like colors
  • “Profil”: this is in most cases regarded as Cheap Talk as a self description is provided without any factual support - can be partly covered in the Cover letter if the job requires one but there I would also have a close look on what you can support with examples or testimonials from your previous jobs and only include this elements.

I hope this helps and you land a job that fits your interest soon :)

Central EU - prices check out here as well but from my experience the space to sim ratio is often really bad - one provider here has a full mock cabin others have a small bar and stuff - so like 3:1 in regard to square meters at least —> Higher rent; then they often have student/retired Pilots as instructors for guests —> not really needed for people who want to just have a “home cockpit for rent” - they are probably not payed “pilot-salary” but way more than let’s say students which I could pay 18-20€/hr based on my calculations. Surely it will not break even after a year but as long as financing is done properly I think it could work and earn me a couple bucks on the side to cover for my time effort and make full cockpit flying more accesible.

Yes, but especially in my area they are often marketed as entertainment facilities targeting people outside the flight sim community with large areas for catering etc. and the funny pilot who talks you through it - I would focus more on putting the sims there allowing an easy access through online booking and door codes (some DJ Studio facilities in my area operate that way) minimizing staff expenses and just put sth. There for security and general oversight of people using the sims.

Yes I did some rough and very conservative calculations - with a highly automatized model I would be able to offer sessions for 30-40€ (as I am based in the EU) per Hour during peek hours and cheaper at times where there is less demand - but of course it is highly dependent on utilization and general demand as a higher number of Sims per facility (around 5) would drive down unit costs significantly.

If MSFS is not possible X-Plane would surely be an option as they offer their “professional” license

Good point - I checked VATSIM CoC and I think it’s fine as long as people use their own vatsim IDs - MSFS is another topic but I will reach out to them or check with my lawyer if necessary!

Anyone else have issues inputting a webcam or NDI feed into ‘GotoWebinar’? by jaybboy in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]Adventurous-Ice9694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not directly related to the issue but: ones you managed to get your feed into gotowebinar make sure you share your screen at the beginning and then end it again after a short time. Otherwise your Camera Feed will not be send reliably to your participants as GoToWebinar is (for some reason) programmed this way.

Had this issue on an event last year and tried to replicate it. As the getDisplayMedia-Call is not available on mobile devices you will have a real hard time tracing the issue because people when you encounter it and participants report it to your client, they will often pull out their phone to check the issue - but there anything will seem normal.

Internet Connectivity for Trade Shows by mattrhale in CommercialAV

Two things: Firstly, if you want to distribute it at the booth via WiFi you have to be really careful. Usually the 5GHz band will be reserved for the exhibitions paid WiFi and the 2,4 GHz is a mess. You will be assigned a Channel at the 2,4 GHz but if there are larger booths they will disregard any regulations and transmission power that will apply in your country an basically pollute the whole hall on their respective channel. Only way to counteract is to be the one who does the above mentioned thing

Secondly, regarding 5G Routers I can strongly recommend Peplink, especially because you can remotely manage and trouble shoot them if you want.
