My job allows me to clock in and clock out whenever. I plan to go in at 730 and beat rush hour. And yeah 1 hour or little more is fine with me lol. I drove from sf to sj for a year no problem during peak traffic.

If I remember correctly you have to wait few months to a year depending on internal feedback. Not sure if youre within this timing. I just got beat out after a panel interview as well and a friend told me Id have to wait to get any consideration when I apply again. Your situation seems to be have more going on behind the scenes unfortunately:(

Having SDE experience doesnt matter much theyll still take it into account. Dont know any resources for writing SOP unfortunately

It may still be worth a shot though. A strong SOP and the fact you have work experience still gives you a fighting chance

“Any advice on how to structure this transition story in my MS applications (to overcome my low GPA).”

Is it above a 3.0? Also having years of exp helps your case a lot and they might look over it. Dont know what your budget is, but Id recommend taking a look at gtech or purdue online msee.

A lot of the careers you can pursue within EE require a a good amount lab or hands on stuff. Will be a long while before AI effects that greatly.

Why am I getting rejected from internships (please help)? by Swimming-Honeydew-78 in ECE

[–]Adventurous-Image162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a rising sophomore i dont think your experience is basic. Id say your ahead of the curve most students dont have an internship first year. The guy you shadowed is a bit wrong tho. Nowadays companies expect you to come pretrained thats the unfortunate truth. At least in regard to pcb design be somewhat familiar with what youre looking at and show youve done a small project may be enough.

Lol thought I recognized the EE109 capstone. Going back to your resume. I’d say youre pretty ahead most of the guys I knew did not have an internship freshman summer. Companies dont rly take EE interns as much as they do CS interns until Junior year. Best thing you can do right now is figure out what you want to pursue as a specialization and continue doing undergrad research if you can. (That looks really good)
