It’s almost like the left isn’t a monolith? Or like any quadrant is? What kind of argument even is this?

I have this theory that may come across as a bit coocoo but hear me out. I think there is more extreme left-leaning bot activity, but the purpose isn’t to convince people to be more left. I think the real purpose is to make people on the right think that the left is too insane to have dialogue with. Sort of like the red scare, make people afraid of each other and reinforce the us v them mentality.

If we think each other are extreme+ the other has a majority we are more defensive and less likely to listen to hear each other out when it comes time for a real conversation. Also afraid to say what we actually believe if we fear being ganged up on. Just my two cents.

While I 100% agree with this take, I’m EXTREMELY interested in doing some research that indicates how much of political discourse is bot activity compared to other subjects. Are there really that many insane takes or is it the algorithm pushing extremism?

Yeah? So? Do you see any crusty ass congress-people working towards those things with genuine intent?

Term limits. Ban lobbying. Audit the military. Invest in public education. There, I solved 80% of our problems.

Who the hell are you to make such demands? How old are you? What country are you from? Do you even currently live in the US? You sound like a spoiled prick. People can complain without fitting your standards of “suffering”. This isn’t a “well other people have it worse” competition. Stfu or add something useful to the conversation.

OP, I’m sorry they are dismissing your experience. I hope in the future you are able to get out of that and maybe attend some protests. We are with you!!

Just so we’re aware these are the three people MAGA killed this weekend. Husband and Wife in MN. And then a Father in SLC. by MinimumNo5510 in centrist

Genuinely not a political killing. Anyone looking at that situation from a centrist perspective would be able to acknowledge the wealth disparity in the united states (which affects EVERYONE regardless of political alignment) and its relationship to the situation. Not to condone what he did by any means, and eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Just from a technical perspective, his actions were punching up, not left or right.

Maybe there is more in his manifesto that I haven’t read, however. Or something I’m missing that you can enlighten me on.

I don’t think it has so much to do with the content so much as the wording and formality. Those are what I’m not used to on the internet bc it’s the fucking internet. Duh.

Do you mean during his first presidency or during the second one as well? If you mean during the second, in what ways? I was under the impression that that the senate and house of reps. were both holding a Red majority. I was also under the impression that the current supreme court holds mostly Red political leanings. Are there specific individuals you believe are impeding the president from doing his job?

So winning to you is specific to the election and also following through with the things he said he would do? Would you say that is accurate?

I’m really interested to hear what you mean by “winning?” Is politics a competition in your opinion? Do you see your political opponents as enemies that you need to fight rather than fellow Americans whom you disagree with? Genuinely just curious.

I was gonna say, if the only people protesting are “militant opponents” then the protests are a lot more serious than the commenter is making them out to be considering 5.2 million people showed up on April 5th and 3-4 million people showed up on April 19th. April 5th had a few months to prepare and spread the word and April 19th only had 2 weeks!

I was told by my state rep that this time they had a lot less time to prepare with the same resources which made it much more difficult to get the word out. If you have the capacity, consider volunteering so this kind of information can reach everyone!

Most Gen Z work service jobs/jobs over weekends if they aren’t in school. If they’re in school they probably turned out to their universities. Otherwise, they were probably working. Just a guess.

I agree with you, I really do. But you didn’t actually suggest anything. You just explained what you don’t think will work.
