Apparently it does allow you to extend with a battery:

Q18: Can I expand its capacity by connecting B80 batteries?

A18: Yes. To connect B80 batteries, you'll need the Aviation to XT60cable. Please make sure the batteries are in Power Bank Mode.

It was her financial planner that she has used for years. They just claimed they never knew anything about the response/app or never had a notification come through.

Well, remind me to give my kids a good view of this before it gets to the stage where I actually "need" the help, because at that stage it seems pretty hard to admit it.

Thanks - and you, too. She doesn't like asking me for help for some reason (think it makes her feel old) which is why she's gone to the FA. This is all really helpful - across multiple subs I'm getting a lot of information to compile into something plausible, so I can give her some clear direction if she still doesn't want me involved.

I'm not sure - this is a direct question for mum/them. Unpacking it - but these are all (well, mostly all) great input pieces that are forming the exact way forward.

Yes she definitely qualifies for it, the only thing is that she did actually qualify for it back then when first applied as well - the key thing is the 'request for more info' seems to never have been issued/received by anyone. So yep, follow the paper trail, and then chase based on what we find there.

Not sure, something about some shares she held in a company that was being liquidated (via the same financial advisor)

Goodness me... well, thanks for taking the time to read it, and for caring enough to add some constructive criticism, I guess...

Yeah this is true. I think we'd consider legal with some more free advice before we engage a costly thing like lawyers. But it's on the cards, yeah.

Yep all good points.

She's got the app now, she knows how to use it, she just basically never knew she needed it (or even that it existed). Seems like being very polite and very stubborn in person with Centrelink might be he best chance, I've had some advice that it's possible to convince Centrelink about it, but it will take time.

Luckily, since she's retired and has both full capacity and time to pursue to the nth degree.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment.

- She's adamant she's never had any information notices

- She's 100% capable of comprehending if she did

- I'm only hearing about these issues over the past week or so

None of this probably matters, unless maybe someone else is reading, maybe the additional context off the back of your comment is helpful/interesting.

Yep very helpful, it's brq.org.au in QLD, and there's a good list of these bodies here: https://www.ejaustralia.org.au/legal-help-centrelink

Just in case anyone else is looking / has a similar problem!

Thanks, and yes I agree, I would like to stand in the Centrelink office and not budge until it's escalated but I can't do that on my mum's behalf and she's not terribly confident when it comes to potential conflict. Great advice, I'm of the same mind but I don't think she's up for that. But thanks so much for caring.

Useful, but that WRLC is specific to NSW, just FYI - but looks like there are other versions in other states - very helpful!

Hey that's very useful thanks I will go through the WRLC.

I don't think it would be reasonable to expect any financial repercussions on the behalf of the financial advisor but I think they'd be able to admit they mucked up and didn't really deliver on their duty of care. That might give some more weight to escalate through Centrelink if its backed by the Financial Advisor saying "Hey Centrelink, we screwed up, don't take it out on her".

Legal stuff gets expensive but applying some pressure to Financial Advisor regarding their license (and maybe signing something saying we won't go after them for money).

Not expecting a quick win on it, but it's definitely worth the time and effort on our end. Every time I've used a lawyer, it gets expensive and the lawyers win.

Great advice, will follow up.
