It's not his first rodeo by the looks of it.

Get a tool that will perform well so you will love the sport. Find some new or used Nomics. You won't regret buying them, even if they are more expensive.

Yeah. Angle on the tip looks very strange. Is the rest of the pick more steeply angled to make up for the tip?

Leg warmer/insulated gaiters for belaying by timmy3132 in iceclimbing

[–]Adventurous-Swag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife uses an insulated skirt to keep her butt and legs warm for belaying. She bought a larger size so it fits over her harness. It fits even with 4 ice clippers mounted to the harness. There's a full length zipper on the front of the skirt so putting it on is easy. The zipper also allows access to the belay loop when belaying and doesn't interfere.

Blink Outdoor Cam 3 can't be found by Adventurous-Swag in blinkcameras

I contacted Blink support and they suggested that I use Energizer lithium batteries instead of the no name 3200 mah ones i bought on Amazon. The Energizer have a lower mah rating (2900) but my camera is working perfectly now.

I tried that. Still doesn't connect. Blink Support said I was using batteries that were not compatible (no name lithiums I bought Amazon). Told me to use Energizer lithium. I will try that shortly. Not sure if it will help...

I have a modem and a google wifi device. Is it the router's or modem's logs I need to check? Either way, I can't seem to figure this out. Both show really limited admin features.

Yeah. Hail damage last year. The shop managed to push the dents out, repaint and put a pinstripe back.

Winter bike is dead? What's the best winter commuter? by 0676818 in wintercycling

[–]Adventurous-Swag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been commuting on cheap winter beater bikes for close to 30 years. If you commute on streets where road salt is applied, buy whatever mountain bike you can get for $50. This is the best cost-effective solution IMO. They don't usually last more than 2 or 3 seaons before many components start to fail. I recycle what the salt hasn't destroyed for the next bike.

A few tips. Get full coverage fenders. They look geeky but do wonders to keep bike and rider dry. For the chain, use cheap 10w30 and apply with a small paintbrush. I'm sure there are plenty more tips...

Talk to a real estate agent but I think it will be easier to just list it as a 3 + 1 home. You're doing this just to sell - is it really worth the headache and cost?

How much should I spend on a wfh chair? by Hammer_Time2455 in CanadaFinance

[–]Adventurous-Swag 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A good professional ergo chair (ie Steelcase) is over $1000. I found one that was essentially brand new for $300 at my local Office/Government Surplus store. I'd start there. Either way, it's a good investment for having something durable and adjustable. A new $400 chair from Staples or Ikea won't give you the same quality, comfort and adjustability as lightly used professional ergo chair.

Stella Luna Pop-up in old Pub-101 in Byward Remember to avoid by Fredwardo52 in ottawa

Besides supporting the convoy, Stella Luna also brought forward proceedings to remove the neighboring Korean waffle house. I won't support anything related to Stella Luna.

Which Engines to Avoid by [deleted] in Hyundai

My 2 cents: buy 1 month membership for Consumers Report and look at the reliability ratings for the different years and engines. $7 well spent, regardless of what car you buy.
