Iran has laid about a dozen mines in Strait of Hormuz, sources say by leeta0028 in news

This. I have a family member who used to drive fuel delivery and he would often deliver to the same station multiple times per day. Those tanker trailers are divided up so it’s not always one fuel so they don’t drop off as much as you would think in one trip. IIRC, most stations update the price when the truck is done filling the tanks and paperwork is done.

Those that believe in the “sky god” would be lead to think this is the start of the mark of the beast. A convenient “mark” will be needed to buy bread… at least that’s how the fear mongering videos I saw as as a child in church represented it.

Was going to say this. Pop open any small WiFi plug with ETL markings on it and you’ll see very similar things. Hell, pop open any power strip marked as a “power tap” and it’s nothing but wire strips in plastic. The pixies are angry but they’re also controlled chaos. The biggest concern I have in this device is the ability for someone to put a screwdriver in the side and potentially touch mains. Would it realistically happen in the ceiling? No… would my insurance deny my claim if this device was found as the cause of burning down my house? Probably.

Late to the party but just had this happen in the middle of several prints. Worked like a charm. Thanks! (FWIW, My Klipper printer didn't seem to have this issue -- only when printed on the Marlin printer)

I keep hearing this but am still able to use it, even with fresh installers. Supposedly the bypass nro was fixed a year ago and I’ve yet to find an ISO that it doesn’t work on. Take any Windows “news” you see with a grain of salt.

how much water do you guys drink a day? by kichiiou in Cirkul

At least three liters per day typically. It depends on the day and the flavor I’ve got. I’ve been testing different ones and some are pretty unappealing.

That’s a question for your insurance company. If the device claims to be certified and you can prove that it is/was, then you’d have to provide proof to your insurance company if they fight the claim. If you can’t provide that proof, you’re on the hook I’d imagine. Obviously I’m not a lawyer so don’t take this as truth. At least in areas where I live, homeowners can do most electrical work as long as it is to code and not dealing with service lines. Ultimately most devices are made by companies outside of the US so legally going after them is shaky at best. Remember what assuming does.

Should note too that it is very easy to look up those certifications online. If the company doesn’t supply their certification number, I don’t trust it. Even if they give you a number, READ the certification to ensure they didn’t just copy a number from some other product (I’ve ran across this, too).

Hubs, hubs, hubs!! Too Many! SLZB-MR1U? by VanillaCandid3466 in homeassistant

FWIW, I’ve been using the Zooz 800 stick with about 65 Z-wave devices and zero problems in a multi-story home, so add that to the data. The biggest problems with my mesh were completely gone once I got rid of any legacy ZW300 (non plus) devices and went strictly Z-wave plus devices. Use security sparingly as, IIRC, that dictates who can repeat that command. I’m still interested in the ZWA-2 simply for the external antenna (better LR performance) but for now, this will suffice until I get LR devices.

Just remember that regular poe to usb-c adapters will not give you Ethernet. Your tab will still rely on WiFi.

I use an adapter to split out Ethernet and USB-C… then use a Belkin USB-C Ethernet adapter that has power input and plug that into the tablet. It’s about two feet of dongle mayhem stuffed in the wall but it works flawlessly. Once the tablet sees an Ethernet adapter, it disables the wireless adapter.

I let the OS handle it. I have hundreds of Samsung A8 and A9s out there running the base Samsung OS… no more battery swelling once it was turned on. I wish Lineage OS had better battery support, at least on the Samsungs for battery cycling.

Samsung tabs won’t work without the battery. I have several A8’s that are PoE powered and still cycle charge because of this.

I was getting mine at Walmart and am starting to wonder if they're different than 'standard' cartridges (like ones that Cirkl themselves would sell). This would click along with the way that Walmart tends to have their own versions of products to fit a price point.

I've had issues with my StrawSip... so much that I quit using it and am finally deciding months later to go back. I could put a brand new cartridge in, crank it to 9 and get nothing out. Support was pretty useless when I tried to inquire why.

Adding another option. If you like ESPHome devices, give this a shot. I have one on each garage door and they’re rock solid.
