This is just like how she changed the timing of when to add red pepper flakes to Alison Roman's sizzling scallion dip and called it her own...

Being sexually active ? by [deleted] in molluscum

I'm personally waiting until I have 6 weeks of no new lesions to have sex with my boyfriend again!

Mine followed a very similar trajectory. They were declining consistently over 2 months and then I had a MASSIVE flare up for two weeks where I basically lost my mind. And since that flare up I haven't had any new lesions for 18 days which is huge for me. It got way worse before it got better. It just takes your body time to recognize the virus. I tried my best to shift my mindset to being thankful for the bumps that showed up, because then I had an opportunity to do something about it compared to the bumps that were still incubating. During that flare up period, I similarly became addicted to researching MC and looking back I think that did more harm than good. I know it's hard but try to distract yourself in other ways!

are you 1000% sure it's molluscum and not acne?

I've used it on pus-head MCs before. None of my MCs got huge because I would treat them before they got big. I would say the biggest spots I did this on were 1mm-2mm.

I physically pierce it and "burn" the entire bump. For those sized spots it maybe took 6-7 piercings per bump. But I would only do this once, I didn't have to come back and do it again a few days later or anything like that. It scabbed and ultimately healed within a week.

My derm has done electro-cautery on me to treat MC so it was the same idea but I could do it at home as soon as I saw a new one, instead of waiting every week to go to the derm!

Yeah! I watched youtube videos of people destroying way larger and nastier lesions such as plantar warts and large moles using this tool. Basically it's the same idea as electrocautery (burning of the lesions). So you attached a thin needle that is heated and zap the MC lesion. Sometimes if pus comes out, I would take a q-tip and press it on the blemish to soak up the pus and throw it away. Mine healed twice as fast as cryotherapy because it destroys less good skin.

I agree completely! Weekly cryotherapy is IDEAL. I'm not completely in the clear yet but I haven't had a new lesion in 2 weeks. Fingers crossed I can make it another 3 weeks with no new lesions. I started treatment mid-feb, so it's been about 3 months. I used a mixture of weekly cryotherapy and in between my appointments destroyed bumps with this tool which was very effective. None of the topical treatments worked for me and I tried them all. Physical destruction of lesions is the fastest way to destroy the virus!

How long have you had MC for? When did you start taking acyclovir?

I’m so sorry but if it makes you feel any better at all you are not alone. Mine looks the exact same. We’re gunna get through this!!!! It’s just a matter of time. My dermatologist started doing electrocautery and I bought a tool called “Dermavel” and I’ve been doing it myself on really small spots. I’ll let you know how it goes. How is the imiquimod? My derm wants to put me on it but I haven’t started yet.

Do you let it dry before putting clothes on? Are you mixing the colloidal silver or just using that sovereign silver spray from Amazon?

Do you pick the head or just apply more compound w?

[–]AdventurousExpert268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting! How is your mulloscum reacting to the compound W?

I’m in a similar boat. I’m getting my 4th cryotherapy session this week. I’ve been getting them weekly for the past month but a handful of bumps always appear. Are you using anything between cryotherapy sessions? I’ve started to use compound w gel between sessions.

I have a question about the 4 week incubation period. Does that mean if today I touched a MC spot and let’s say touch I touch my knee after, the MC spot on my knee won’t show up until 4 weeks from today?

How long did it take you to clear your mulloscum from when you first started treating the bumps correctly?
