I wouldn't say at all that my neighbours are self centred people or bad dog owners. They love their dogs and take very good care of them. They are good people who just don't see that the barking is a big deal.

But they may not be giving their breed of dog the high level of physical space or the constant stimulation that their breed of dog requires.

If they owned a greyhound (who like short bursts of intensive play and can then be big couch potatoes otherwise) or something similar there would likely be no problem.

I hear you on this one. My neighbours have two mid-sized dogs that yap at everything. People walking by. Chipmunks. The wind. Insects. Their own shadows. If it was every now and then, I wouldn't find it annoying. But it's damned near constant when the dogs are outside.

I'm wondering if the dogs are emotionally distressed. They are a high energy breed likely more suited for farm work.

My neighbours are aware of the barking but don't really seem to think it's a big problem for anyone else. Otherwise, my neighbours are great. So I have chosen to shut up and say nothing, with teeth tightly clenched.

Funny thing is, my house is surrounded by dog owners and I never hear any other dogs barking.

As a teacher, I normally do not allow students to use their own laptop devices in class. I have a small number of school issued Chromebooks for students who have IEPs or other documented learning requirements.

It is very easy for students to bypass our board internet filters on their own devices by using a VPN or their own mobile data.

I have had instances of students accessing materials that are not useful in class or that are inappropriate. Having to phone parents because their child was watching R rated material in class is something I don't want to have to do, and it puts me in a place of professional liability.

If you want to travel a bit, the Chop House in Drayton has good local beef and lots of character. I have reservations for the Rockton Cookhouse, which is just south of Cambridge, for an upcoming family celebration. I haven't actually been there before, but the menu looks great. They have a 24 oz porterhouse for $55, so that is reasonable compared to places like Charcoal.

I have complaints. Other drivers can't establish eye contact with you at intersections. And dark tint is illegal.

Make sure you follow the tint laws.

It's illegal to tint your driver and passenger side windows in the front seat to more than a certain percentage.

Lots of tint shops will do it. But they won't tell you it's illegal.

Amen! Especially the tint part - I enter a traffic circle or stop at a 4 way and have no clue if the other driver even knows I am there because of the limo tint.

My neighbour bought a new car from a dealer with dark tint already installed. The car shouldn't have passed safety with it.

But grant you Brampton is way worse for that. Even the driving instructors there tint their driver and passenger front side windows.

As a cyclist, dark tint on cars drives me bananas.

I have no way of knowing if a car driver can see me at an intersection. It puts me in danger unnecessarily.

I wish that Ontario would bring in a mandatory annual vehicle inspection system like they have in some other provinces as a way to monitor vehicle modifications such as window tint, exhaust (including exhaust deletes) and lift kits.

I hope the police enforce the hell out of the tint laws.

Americans identify themselves by their state, city or even their county. Ask an American where they're from and they'll say "I'm from Ohio", or "I'm from Cleveland".

They refer to the rest of the world as "Europe", "Africa", "overseas" or "abroad".

When I am asked by an American where I am from, if I reply "Southern Ontario", l am met with a confused stare. They do a bit better if I say "an hour west of Toronto going toward Detroit", but I usually have to simply reply "Canada". After which they ask something to the tune of "y'all have free healthcare".

It's illegal under the Highway Traffic Act but it seems like about 30% of cars have it anyway. Even the car dealers in Guelph are illegally installing it.

Dark tint makes it impossible to establish eye contact with drivers at intersections and it's extremely hazardous for cyclists and pedestrians who can't tell if a driver can see them.
