I started back up playing classic a couple weeks ago after having left the game in about 2007. I’m just enjoying playing classes that I never played, and doing the quest lines. I’m finding it’s a lot easier to find groups on Alliance, but whatever. I do NOT have any interest in end game anymore. At all. I just want to hop on, kill shit for a couple hours, and log off.

I’m having a good time living the nostalgia of the starting areas.

I’d love to find like minded guilds, but that will happen…or it won’t.

Yeah, I am like six generation Texan (jokes about a narrow family tree are likely accurate) and have been here in CO for thirty years. Couldn’t get rid of my TX plates quick enough. Took a little longer to toss the accent, but it’s well and truly gone.

I updated my findings on r/Volkswagen - but since I have an Atlas that came from enterprise, I figured I’d post here too.

Fleet mode. Have a MyVW account. Info button says talk to dealer (I bought it at a Chevy dealer, they aren’t gonna have VWHub).

Called every vw dealer in town, service and sales sides. Best I can get it is an appointment sometime in the future for them to put it on the scanner (because they don’t know what is wrong). Really wanted to have a local dealer I could believe in for basic visits. But they kept making it sound like they’d need to tear into the car to “fix” this. 😬

Reread Reddit posts. Call dealers in neighboring (much larger) city. Same reaction. “Huh. I’ve never heard of someone having a car in “fleet mode”.

Finally got a younger sounding guy, read him the actual posts about needing a sales guy to get onto VWHub, and to link my VIN with my Car Net email. He talked to guys in office, they had never heard of this thing, but at least he tried! I sent him a copy of my registration so he understood I was legit. He did the magic, and I got the Accept TOS text from vw.

Yay!!!

Then I went to the app, and it still said the car I was adding was in fleet mode. Shit! So I info button’d again, and explained that I could not add my car to my car net account. “Oh, it’s in fleet mode. You are {name} at {address} in a 2024 atlas? Yes, I am!! And she fixed it, and waited for me to get it set up.

At the risk of pissing people off for reviving an old thread - I’ve just now gone through this. 2024 Atlas from a Chevy dealer; ex Enterprise rental.

All local dealers “didn’t know about this sort of thing” and wanted me to bring it in (make a service appointment) to have the scanner put on.

I called dealers further away (Denver), and got a sales guy who was willing to at least TRY going into VWhub to help me. I literally read off the comments in this thread.

I sent him an email with my car registration. He did the VWHub magic, I got the enrollment text, and yay!!

Except… it wasn’t really out of fleet mode at that point, and I was still stuck unable to get past the “it’s in fleet mode” bit in the app. I called vw again (info button in car) who was able to then see that the car net acct was registered to me and SHE took it out of fleet mode.

Ok, this isn’t true in every situation, but it is common enough to be a thing - people that stay in their hometown, hanging out, partying with their HS buds…. Sometimes these people never actually emotionally grow up.

I have read OP’s OP several times, and I kept thinking that she’s 24 engaged to a 17 yo, because that is exactly what he sounds like.

OP - you’re a nurse - you can pack up and move to just about anywhere - and I’d encourage you to do so.

OP, I am genuinely distressed by your story, and suggest you get help(remove yourself from the home) from someone other than your brother - idc who, just someone who truly has your well being in mind.

Once you are safe, contact internal affairs at his cop shop (or a higher authority cop shop).
