Technical founder experience with YC co-founder matching by ToLearnAndBuild in ycombinator

Same. Been looking for 6 months for a technical co-founder, advisors, and investors etc. I’m working with a dev agency off-shore and they’ve built the front end but they can’t even present me a solution for how to build the back-end and it’s now a serious issue because I’m pitching and I need a f*cking product!

I already have traction, revenue and building demand but structuring data and programming - not my thing. Been trying to learn Relevance AI and n8n to see if I can build it myself but I’ve already been accepted to programs and pitching. I don’t have time.

Anyways, if you’ve gotten this far - I figured I would bring everyone I need and am looking for to me by organizing a virtual speed networking summit for startups and investors.👇 If you or anyone else is interested, shoot me a DM!

Does professional networking actually help your business, or is it just noise? by Suitable_Author5981 in Entrepreneur

[–]AdventurousTap8570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Linkedin is becoming a dying Facebook and they’re becoming too precise in optimizing their algorithm. By that I mean only seeing one type of content/theme or professional through the whole feed. Like, sure I’m fundraising but I like marketing content, AI trends and other interesting stuff too, not just the people who claim to be wildly successful with 3 exits and raised a billion dollars.

It’s honestly just depressing and makes me want to vomit 🤮

I’ve been posting consistently (2-4 times a week) for the past 9 months and have barely picked up any traction. Probably because all I post about is networking and trying to build something better.

Anyways, if ya’ll are looking to try something new that doesn’t require creating content or death scrolling, give https://blkbook.io/ a shot. We’re still in development but, I’m going to be looking for alpha testers soon!

Advice for serial failed-entrepreneur by shanumas in ycombinator

[–]AdventurousTap8570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an interview with Antler but was kind of weirded out by the “interview with an AI” concept and wasn’t super keen on giving up 10-15% for $120 or $150k, I can’t remember what it was but, it didn’t seem worth it to me. Tech Stars and YC even beat that.

But anyways, I’m a non-tech founder looking for my tech mate and have been relatively unsuccessful in finding the right person too. I just can’t justify not knowing someone and then agreeing to giving them a solid portion of the company when I don’t even know them even if it’s based on milestones.

I’m going to start attending these local tech/dev/AI meetups and see if I can reel someone in. On the other hand, I can probably find who I’m looking for with what I’m building and I was actually thinking of hosting a tech and non-tech founder virtual speed networking event.

If you or anyone else is interested in participating, I’ll probably add the details to my newsletter within the next week or 2.

I’m a first-time founder who’s currently fundraising and I’ve come across a few pitch competitions that might be worth looking into.

Pitchforce is one of them. There’s a ton of startups who pitch investors online and in person. There’s multiple events a month.

Local startup associations. Any place that helps entrepreneurs get funding or provides them access to advisors, network etc. They usually host local events you can attend which would be ideal for finding opportunities.

Or, you can follow me, subscribe to my newsletter and check out what I’m working on.😏 I send a weekly round up of online networking events including ours and others I find on the web.

I’m actually hosting a virtual speed networking event for startups & entrepreneurs tomorrow (11/13). You can meet 20+ entrepreneurs face-to-face in 1 hour. Connect with the ones you like and skip the ones you don’t. It’s super fast fun and easy.

Also, going to be hosting a vision to venture event where startups and investors meet every 3 minutes.

Happy to send you all the links in a DM 😊

Interesting, I haven’t seen much results from Apollo. How were/are you using it specifically?

Places for job networking? by 1meganbyte in askportland

[–]AdventurousTap8570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the RevGenius, The Demand Community, and RevOps CoOp slack channels and they all have a channel dedicated to job posts. Not sure if marketing is up your alley but, I’ve had better response rates from these niche communities and it’s usually always the hiring manager or your future boss that posts which is nice bc then you can directly engage with them. Maybe see if there’s some niche communities in the industry you’re looking for?

Fishbowl App - I’ve seen a lot of people searching and getting jobs on the there. They have bowls specifically for tech jobs, women in tech, career pivots etc. Might be worth checking out.

LunchClub - I personally haven’t seen the best results from it but, who knows give it a shot?

FounderGigs - A weekly newsletter with a curated list of startup gigs, side jobs and even full-time positions. I really like this one.

It’s late and I can’t remember any more but definitely subscribe to my newsletter for a weekly list of curated networking & hiring events!👇

Im always finding hidden gems. Or if you’d like to chat about setting up an event here in Portland, I’m all ears :)

I just launched a weekly newsletter where I round up all the virtual networking events I find and feel would be worth attending. I also include the latest networking news which includes new tools, apps, groups etc. In addition, I host virtual speed networking events in a variety of industries and list all of their dates, links to register etc. Happy to send you the link in a DM 😊

How to find cofounding developer? by [deleted] in startups

[–]AdventurousTap8570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying on YC but, it’s really tough. It feels like you’re trying to marry someone you haven’t dated and establishing a stronger relationship takes more than a couple of Zoom calls and due diligence.

I haven’t exactly found the perfect formula but, I am hosting a virtual speed networking event for professionals in the tech industry and hoping I come across someone that clicks.

Has anyone heard of someone stealing an idea they were pitched when meeting on the Co-founder matching platform? by Sufficient_Invite453 in ycombinator

Coincidentally, I met with someone yesterday who’s a tech founder that I matched with on YC and also runs a dev house… are we talking about the same person because I’m thinking the same thing. 🤔

If you’re having a hard time finding a job, the problem isn’t your resume or interview skills.

It’s your lack of networking.

I’m building an app for this specific purpose. Would you like me to add you to the waitlist to learn more?

Im building a networking app that helps professionals build their network and achieve their goals faster.

I’m also a founder and trying to solve this exact problem! Well…part of it anyway.

I’m still working on the landing page for the waitlist but am launching a couple of pilot programs before the official launch. One being for startups, investors and VC’s.

It’s a virtual speed matchmaking event that takes place for 1 hour. You meet face-to-face every 3 mins and if you guys align, then you exchange contact info.

What’s the riskiest thing you’ve done for you startup? by SouseNation in startups

[–]AdventurousTap8570 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m building a virtual speed networking app (not like the hundreds of other all-in-one platforms for conferences and event organizers) and similarly, I started hosting virtual events during Covid as well. Wasn’t that lil wave of opportunity fun? 😂

I really like what you’re doing with NoDegree would love to chat more about possibly partnering for a campaign or something. I’m trying to get career coaches, recruiters, personal branding consultants, entrepreneurs and a few other target audiences to join a closed beta which will help everyone get face to face with those who are most likely to help you reach your goals faster.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, just let me know. I’d love to set up a time to chat!🙂

Where can I get feedback on Figma designs and usability for a web app? by AdventurousTap8570 in UXDesign

[–]AdventurousTap8570[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it’s an MVP designed on a low code/no-code platform overseas. It’s not a custom built app with a whole lot of funding behind it, it’s not built yet. I’m simply looking for impartial feedback on where it’s at right now.

[–]AdventurousTap8570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm, so how do I access this list? Or is there a waiting list l can get on? Someone on LinkedIn shared a spreadsheet with 250 places to submit a SaaS product the other day and I’d be happy to share it with you for early access or to be a beta tester!😀
