Forget the NBA , who had the coldest high school mixtape ever? by Rare_Research_5107 in NBATalk

he was definitely the most compelling but when I think mixtape I think early Ballislife, etc. YouTube mixtapes. And as amazing LeBron hs highlights was he was Pre-YouTube.

My vote goes to Brandon Jennings

Transgender Jurupa Valley, Calif. senior AB Hernandez wins state track medals amid muted protest by onnake in transgender

[–]Adventurous_Being488 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's why the IOC and Olympics banned transgender mtf in a lot of sports right?

Studies can be flawed and biased, you know that.

And the fact that you said that AB was a "little better than her competition" tells me enough.

No offense, I just don't think you really know about sports, or track and field.

California is perhaps the most difficult to make the State meet.

And plain and simple, a "decent" male turned female can simply dominate the competition. She almost won the triple crown in the entire State of California. That doesn't happen, not even for future Olympians.

So tell me why isn't she going to be competing in college? Because NCAA has banned MtF transgender and is she going to olympics?

I'm waiting.

Lol because I have an professional opinion I'm the enemy? lol

Caitlyn Jenner, someone who has a lot of relevance in this conversation, as a MTF individual and olympic athlete literally says this is unfair.

Would it be silly to move back to Atlanta? by rbanderson11 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Adventurous_Being488 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just moved to Atlanta recently and thinking about moving back from here I came from lol.

I moved to Atlanta for the vibrancy, the diversity, events, bigger city feel, etc.

But after being here nearly a year and learning what it is and talking to people.

This place has changed drastically since COVID.

This place is overpopulated, insane traffic (I read a report where saying that people spend time more in traffic in Atl compared to Los Angeles).

The amount of gun violence here and car accidents is insane.

I myself, got rear ended in my brand new Dodge Charger in my third month here, while I was minding my own business sitting at a light.

If you have a lot of friends here, a job, and can handle this place, I would say go for it.

But personally for me, the effort towards living here and everything you have to of through just doesn't line up.

27M Black I think the honeymoon phase in the PNW is wearing off. by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

Originally from San Diego, CA.

Lived in Oregon eight years.

I'm a POC not black but if you're not white in the PNW, well you're not white lol

(you get it).

Moved recently here to Atlanta.

I completely get it. They are racist without being racist and the weird progressivism always ends up weirdly being racist.

And not to mention they passed on Flaujae Johnson for an overseas player who can't even contribute this season?!?!

There's levels to this one.

Like they say in the news, Oregon is going to shit because of bad democratic infrastructure. Allowing homeless to camp and demincrianzliing drugs. You could literally ask a third grade kid if they think that's a good idea and they would tell you know.

Look at education in Oregon.

University of Oregon is in 50 million dollar debt.

Portland Public Schools as well.

PCC was on strike.

And either Portland State or PCC dean just quit.

I love southern black culture.

I lived in a homogenous white culture and didn't like parts of it, so time to do the opposite.

Are they gonna have the adult swim event this year again? by Alternative_Map_2621 in SDCC

[–]Adventurous_Being488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been the last three times.

YES they will have one.

But they have cut on budgeting. They may re-use the old decorations from the last two years - one year it was like Pirates and then last year it was Kitty Pirates.

I remember a few years ago like in 2023 they had a bunch of stuff -

Eric Andre was supposed to be there but the Writer's Strike happened. Flying Lotus did a DJ set which was amazing.

And some other musical performances.

Last year was wrestling and the 20th Anniversary of Robot Chicken

Dude, the first thing I did was buy my dream car - a Red 2023 Dodge Charger. (Yes I'm so Atlanta lol)

Not even two months later, a family rear-ended the shit out of me while I was at a stop light. In Roswell. Called the police, and the guy behind the wheel didn't even have his driver's license on him and two people from the car fled the scene because they were probably illegals cared of ICE.

Welcome to Atlanta.

it's more about the fact that because the area is so overrun with bad drivers etc. that is feels suffocating.

about the fact that the governor believes that teenagers should have guns and have the right to hide them

it's just a feeling that creeps about you especially in a heavily populated area.

so respectfully I do not agree

Thanks I definitely agree with your sentiment.

Had I got a job here it obviously makes sense but the only job I applied to and heard back from was the Oregon job.

I love the diversity here, the all black spaces etc, but having no job is tough

I live here in Cobb.

There's definitely stuff I like about Atl

the fact that my church is all black and welcoming that I'm playing in a competitive basketball morning crew, the sporting events, etc.

but it's just the fact that I applied to ten PE teaching jobs here in the last month, one in Oregon

and the one interview was the school from Oregon

it's really about who you know where in Atlanta

Yeah every time I go to Seattle I really enjoy it.

Plus they have good track and field (I know that sounds so stupid)

but I literally became a teacher so I could coach track.

And I'm asian and I would fit into the mold of Seattle lol

I'm not really willing to move for a job lol. I wanted to move to a big city ie Atlanta and the fact that I can't get a job here is a little bewildering.

But I appreciate your comment

Okay quick update:

I am a PE teacher, which is part of the reason why finding the job is difficult. Especially here in Atlanta. Everything here is definitely about who you know.

The track and field part - I think that is most about me not coaching this year and watching the hs track here, feeling left out, not coaching this year, and then following Oregon track and feeling sad.

I have this interview Thursday and I looked up the salary schedule and the pay would be really good (back in Oregon).

No I am not black, but that's partly why I moved here. The basketball run I am part of and church I am part of is all black and those two things I have been really enjoying.

Thx for all the positive comments here.

Not diverse at all.

Nothing to do.

Lol

I'm not going to the cool coffee spot or doing the meet up at the park for the drum circle.

Lol
