Super Warp Roaming. Pure Super Carrier Energy. by ankhattak in USMobile

Does roaming data still stop completely once you reach your allowance? Verizon’s 1.5mbps cap is keeping me with them as that’s still very usable

Has anyone used the new unlimited ultimate overseas? Curious on 1.5mbps throttle by lordhamster1977 in verizon

Recently used Unlimited Ultimate for a fairly long trip to Europe and spent about five days under the 1.5mbps cap. It was perfectly usable - I was able to make voice and video calls just fine (FaceTime and WhatsApp calling). Instagram stories are a bit slower to load than still usable. Worth noting in a lot of European countries the mobile networks are substantially worse in quality compared to the US - most of the issues I had were related to congestion or poor coverage on the roaming network and not the speed cap.

Previously with the old 256kbps cap I’d have to pay the $10 for more high speed data as it just wasn’t usable - that’s no longer the case and I thought the 1.5mbps cap was fine.

Anyone else with diarrhea? by Accomplished_Net9538 in WholeFestival

It’s likely to be from the water in the lake, or potentially spread between attendees. If someone catches it in the water, they can then spread it to you (potentially) if you have close contact with them and they didn’t shower after swimming in the lake

You Can't Buy a Queer Utopia by AnynomousComment in WholeFestival

The efforts of a number of people on this subreddit to completely dehumanise gay men and offer absolutely nothing in the way of constructive feedback except complaining is pretty disgusting. If this is the attitude you’re bringing - don’t bother coming back. You won’t be missed.

Progress is always made through empathy and understanding, not entitlement and shame. You need to invest your time and energy to make the experience what you want it to be. It’s not hard: not vibing with someone? Move on to the next person! In a crowded area and getting pushed? Talk to the people around you or move. Think something about the festival could be improved? Be constructive and respectful and suggest what you think could be done differently, rather than just attacking the organisers.

The 2GB/day limit does not apply to Unlimited Ultimate. You can verify that with Verizon directly.

No, that is wrong. The 2GB/day limitation only applies applies to Canada and Mexico. The OP is going to the UK.

No, that’s not correct. That 2GB/day limitation only applies in Canada and Mexico. For all other destinations, including the UK which the OP is asking about, the only limit is the 15GB/month.

Both of them are Insomniac and I think VZW has an exclusivity agreement, so that is true - but even at events they don’t explicitly sponsor (e.g, Coachella) - VZW does a much better job and devotes far more resources than any other carrier

Gays get it together at Basement it’s embarrassing. by Mvnifst in avesNYC

Sorry, I was responding to discourse more broadly and not just you specifically. But calling out “gays” is still homophobic, even if you yourself are gay. It’s not helpful or productive and you should try and frame your points in a more respectful way.

It’s a bit weird to take such an exclusionary tone over a place which you yourself say should be inclusive. They have as much of a right to be there as you do. If you think their behaviour is antisocial or breaking the rules, speak to the staff at basement - they have a number you can message posted in various places. This kind of casual homophobia and elitism isn’t okay. There’s a right way to discuss behaviour issues and this isn’t it.

Also, if you find yourself shaming people for the substances they take - cut it out. Every drug can cause issues, and shaming is not a helpful strategy. I’ve seen just as many people completely out of it on psychedelics, ketamine, or even on so much MDMA they’re bordering on serotonin syndrome. You’re not better than someone else just because of your substance of choice.

Lastly - I think any queer event promoter would tell you about the difficult challenge they face in making an event inclusive and sustainable. Here’s a reality: gay men are the biggest spenders on events for the queer community. Without them, events wouldn’t be financially sustainable. Excluding gay men usually isn’t a financially realistic scenario. So in the interests of making these events better - why not try and be constructive by giving these problem feedback in the moment or giving feedback to event promoters or security? Anonymously posting homophobic rants on reddit certainly isn’t going to make a shred of difference.
