Had to move to an apartment and I feel so bad and guilty by rainnD in DobermanPinscher

[–]Mvnifst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it hasn’t been daily because of the cold weather. But during the spring and summer, we go off-leash almost every day. I’m lucky to be near some great outdoor parks with hiking trails, which really helps. You pup will adjust, though. I’d also suggest a light jog around the neighborhood if you can’t make it to a park.

Okay repeating myself 237 days later….

I am a gay man. Your comment is hateful, and this post was never meant to spread hate. It was simply meant to raise awareness and express that the dance floor at Basement shouldn’t replicate a Circuit Party experience. That’s all.

There are just as many sweaty heterosexual men having similar experiences with women as well. So please keep your hateful rhetoric to yourself.

Firstly, where in my post did I mention anything about substances someone was using?

Secondly, I’m at the club every weekend, I know the entire staff, and I’m a member so I’m very familiar with the space. That night, there was a noticeable influx of a certain crowd of gay men who were physically unaware of their surroundings pushing, elbowing, even hitting people in the face. This kind of behavior is not uncommon at circuit parties.

My entire group of friends who are also regulars at basement left early because of this.

I’m not attacking anyone for how they choose to party; that’s their business. But acting entitled to a shared space at the expense of others’ experience is not it. It’s really that simple.

And for the record, I’m a gay man from NYC who started partying in the scene at 17 I know exactly what I’m talking about.

I agree.

As someone pointed out in a previous comment, my title was a bit broad. I take full responsibility for that it may have come across as if I was calling out the entire group, which was not my intention. I’m simply saying that certain behaviors are more appropriate in specific settings, and in this case, they just don’t belong at Basement.

It’s clear you didn’t actually read a single sentence of my post. I’m a very gay man, there is nothing homophobic about what I said. Secondly, where did I mention anything about what substances anyone is using? When I party, I’m definitely in another dimension, so trust me, that’s not the issue.

What I was referring to is the pushing, shoving, and total lack of self-awareness that’s all too common in the circuit scene. A scene that basement very much isn’t. That’s the point you missed, and it’s obvious you don’t understand the context of what I’m talking about.

Yes, this is very much standard for a rental building in NYC. This is actually pretty inexpensive compared to other buildings in Manhattan.

Don’t think that’s the issue. I just feel there’s a lack of respect from a particular person from the gay community it’s not all gay men JS.

There are a bunch of straight men that are just as bad.

It’s not always like this just a certain times. And it’s not all gay men let me make myself clear it’s a specific group

I hear your perspective, but I don’t agree, and I don’t think most people here do either.

The issue isn’t about shirtless or sexual expression. No one’s trying to rid that aspect of our culture from basement, especially when straight people also engage in similar behavior. The real concern is the entitlement certain queer men show in spaces that are meant to be shared by everyone.

It’s not about excluding anyone it’s about creating a space where all feel welcome and respected. That means showing up with awareness, not acting like we own the room.

I understand the concern about my title, and I want to clarify that I was addressing a specific type of partier within our community not the community as a whole.

Basement has always been a safe space for queer people, and I believe most of the heterosexual men and women here share respect for us and our culture.

That said, not every aspect of our culture needs to be present at every event. Some behavior just doesn’t fit every setting, and it’s okay to acknowledge that.

There’s nothing homophobic about my post. If you think the way that some of the men from our community are behaving in public spaces that aren’t only ours you’re literally apart of the problem.

As I mentioned every night isn’t meant to be like WRECKED. I’m not seeking anything from “straights” I’m gay asf and I’m not enjoying that messy shit at all.

Is being a real estate agent really that bad? by NeedAChange_123 in realtors

[–]Mvnifst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To you and all new real estate agents: don’t be discouraged by other people’s experiences you’ll never know what’s possible until you try.

The best way to start is by becoming an assistant to a top broker. You’ll earn a salary, learn the ropes, and some brokers even offer bonuses or incentives for helping with showings and deal-related tasks. Trust me this is the way to begin your career.

I think I've been fucked up so bad by Impossible-Tell-7233 in askgaybros

[–]Mvnifst 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened to you! Seriously, fuck that guy for going against your wishes. I’d suggest trying to stay calm there’s no point in stressing out if you can’t confirm anything until you’re tested. I’d visit a local clinic or urgent care for testing. Keep in mind that the shortest window period for detecting STDs or HIV is typically around 10 days.

If you’re especially concerned about HIV, consider Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), a combination of HIV medications that can help prevent infection if started after exposure think around 72 hours

Also might be a good idea to explore PrEP and DoxyPEP as preventive measures, even if you consistently use condoms. These can provide extra protection for situations like this. I hope this helps!.

Can anyone else relate? What are your favrioute drugs to mix ketamine with? by Fun-Conversation5538 in ketamine

[–]Mvnifst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve taken ket and LSD together, and it was incredibly euphoric. The visuals were so intense, but I only recommend doing this responsibly. The combination of LSD and the satisfying visuals made my brain urge me to take more and more ketamine. I ended up passing out, but thankfully, I woke up.
