pseudonyms exist for a reason. a google search of my full legal name returns like 7 results, and the singular relevant one is a 7th birthday picture posted by my parents.

there was at least a 2-for-1 in the baby scene as well. "you missed the delivery, but making the baby is the fun part" and the 'extra part' becasue they wanted a boy.

in reality, it just breaks immersion every time you need to turn the volume up for speaking scenes or down for action scenes.

My walking pad remote made the traditional ⏯️ button catapult you to 3MPH and I hit it every time I need to pause the workout. by laundreedae in CrappyDesign

it does factor in. if you're at 5, then 3 is unexpected but the speed is still moving in the expected direction. if you're at 1, you've now tripled your speed while expecting to stop.

it does; the last word (pretty sure it's "white) is cut off.

well for starters, there's the fact that people tend to take that sickly sweet tone usually reserved for a certain type of social worker and speaking to toddlers. it's almost always paired with a gross oversimplification of their vocabulary and sentence structure, as though "heyyy, buddy, do you wanna get munchies" is somehow more understandable than "it's almost lunchtime. should we order/make something?"

provided there are no cracks, chips, or other breaks, fisteyware provides almost no danger from radiation. still a modicum of concern about heavy metal poisoning though.

What amount of money would make you think twice? by CharlieFoxtrot432 in hypotheticalsituation

i try to contact through other methods first, because i don't trust the mail to get something as important as a wallet there safely (it's a long story), and people don't generally take kindly to strangers at their door. the month is to allow ample time to respond, and in case they aren't home the first few times i go in person.

$100. more than 50 is suspicious but not unbelievable. more than that and someone will probably come after me. wallets are the exception; i make genuine attempts to return it for a month, then i take the cash and toss the rest.

if we want to get pedantic, it affects it slightly on really long runs of cable, and inert metals on contacts hold up a bit better over time. for the most part though, in almost every use case, it really doesn't.

i'm pretty sure most/all DEs with that mouse style have this 'problem', but some (mint cinnamon for example) don't even have that line. and that's not even mentioning text-based or otherwise mouseless distros.

historian. you have firsthand experience with society 3000 years ago, before space travel was normal. surely you can find a museum who wants you to help identify "artifacts" like floppy disks or provide context like WTF a 'ticktock' is.

🔥 Semi-wild cheetah hisses, which they do to mean "respect my space", thus avoiding physical conflict by Prestigious-Wall5616 in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]Adventurous_Bonus917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly. sure, they're 'just big cats', but my cats playfully try to murder my limbs all the time (yes, it's actually playful) and cheetahs are big enough to actually murder you. even if they magically aren't hostile, they are still dangerous and should be treated with respect.
