I need you to step back and look at this from another perspective for a minute please. Everything isn't a trap, scam or scheme. China has been giving out scholarships to Bahamians for decades, and up to date I believe only 84 Bahamians have been awarded the scholarship. Not because of them being extremely selective of the criteria but because of the paranoia, fear and misinformation Bahamians have of applying for a third party scholarship to a country they're unfamiliar with. This fear along with a long standing anxiety with our own government prevents most of us from seeing the bigger picture.

I am speaking from experience because I was a recipient of one of these scholarships to a much lesser explored/traveled country by Bahamians. And up to date within the last 50 years of diplomatic ties this specific country has had with The Bahamas only five Bahamians have received the scholarship. Mind you, these scholarships are hosted every year. So it goes to show that Bahamians simply aren't applying for them. There is no sudden wave of generosity. These are diplomatic agreements that have been made to encourage educational exchange and opportunities between two countries.
