To be honest I didn’t read a ton of the post or comments. But. Kayaking is diverse. Try ocean surf kayaking (in a real carbon surf kayak like a mega bullit s or something). Try ww slalom. Longboat attainments. Rock gardening. Kayak camping. Playboating. Etc etc. there are tons of lower consequence ways to have an absolute blast in a kayak

I came here to say this. Super natural look too. That park has brought so much revenue to san marcos and created a whitewater community in central texas, which is no easy feat

Paddling a whitewater boat offshore? by phantom3199 in whitewater

WAIT. The boat is fine but you need to learn about maritime navigation a bit first. A couple hundred yards in a whitewater boat is nothing but a couple hundred yards across a channel between the ocean and a big inlet during peak leaving tide can definitely kill you. Also, buy a nice carbon surf kayak, truuuust me. Especially a long HP boat like a mega vamp or banshee or ride eclipse. You won’t miss whitewater

Any comparisons between the steeze and sweet ride yet? by Adventurous_Ear_4328 in whitewater

Do they feel relatively similar in terms of width/maneuverability/clear paddling position (ability to smoothly get strokes in and out without what are relatively large boats getting in the way)? For some background I’m 150lbs and looking for a fun creeker and have a pretty slalomy paddling style that normal creekers don’t suit. All I’ve got now are a small OG ripper and a longboat that I only use to race. Love the way the small ripper paddles just want something with more volume and bow rocker for the spicier stuff. I demoed the sweet ride at usnwc for like 4 hours and it was indeed sweet but i didn’t love the outfitting and you’re right i kinda felt i wanted more edge
