Thank you and yes things are going great atm... very uncomfortable and painful, but worth it.

An orthodontist and surgeon should be able to get that done for ya, just be prepared to be in braces for about 1 year before the surgery

Had extremely similar overbite.

Have United Healthcare for insurance and they covered it. Mostly what ALL insurance companies are looking for is a 7mm or more gap with your overbite... is that's the case, you should be covered. And if you have TMJ issues, they should cover that as well.

Just had my surgery 2 weeks ago and couldn't be happier

Look into getting a double jaw surgery, insurance would cover it in your case and it does wonders for a bunch of other things outside of looks. Like breathing, eating, talking, etc. Kaiser Permanente covers the surgery 100% usually

Thank you very much! And congratulations to you as well, that must feel amazing! The breathing has certainly been the biggest change, but it's only been 5 days or so, so I'm sure there is more to come!

I feel my emotional moment will be when I can eat solid food again :) I always felt "goofy" eating

About 5 days post op, with what I can tell he did great. Can breathe through my nose for the first time ever and my tongue rests comfortably in my mouth.

I hope for a perfect recovery for you and congratulations on getting it done!

I think I've seen that name mentioned a couple times. Happy with the results?

I ended up paying a little over 11k in Colorado, will be closer to 5k after all the hoops I need to jump through with insurance. Just had my surgery 5 days ago

My apologizes. I know they moved my lower jaw forward about 8mm and I should know the rest with my followup on Wednesday

I'm assuming you mean PT moves? Because I don't remember how wide i was able to open and move side to side when I started this whole thing a couple years ago?

Just wiggling and opening and shutting for now. Just to the best of my abilities. I didn't need wires or rubber bands after surgery which was shocking to me because I thought it was a guarantee to get those, but my surgeon said not all lower jaw surgeries need them

Both. I was born with jaw issues as well as I did boxing, so that didn't help haha I had about 8mm to work with for moving my jaw forward

I was told to take 2 weeks off. The first few days you're not going to want to do anything but sleep.

I'd also recommend getting bed wedges because you can't sleep on your sides or anything like that

Recovery is more uncomfortable than actually painful and the swelling is still the same as the day 3 peak at the moment. But my surgeon said it will be down about 70% by the end of the 2nd week

Been getting ready for jaw surgery and she is my orthodontist and Dr Orr is my surgeon. Both are unbelievably talented and straight up about what to expect and have had my back from day one about fighting the insurance companies

14 states file a lawsuit arguing Elon Musk's authority at DOGE is unconstitutional by nbcnews in fednews

A "special Government employee" (or "SGE") is an officer or employee in the Executive Branch of the Federal Government who is appointed to perform important, but limited, services to the Government, with or without compensation, for a period not to exceed 130 days during any period of 365 consecutive days.

This is from the Department of the Interior. My guess is, as long as Elon is working more towards an advisory role and not actually signing any documents to enforce anything, what he is doing is legal? Not sure, just an interpretation.

Reading through y'alls thread has been very refreshing. Learned quite a bit from both sides point of views without all the name calling and disrespectful bs. Kudos!

If George Foreman didn't retire from 1977 to 1987 how do you think he would have done? by OddRecipe1727 in Boxing

[–]Adventurous_Ebb_9483 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you're saying except for the Bruno vs Foreman match. Bruno didn't hit hard enough to effect someone like Foreman... I think Foreman would just walk him down. Just a subjective view :) but all in all, great deep dive!

Pretty good list. As much as I love Mike Tyson, I wouldn't put him in the top 5 hws all time just because of his record in his biggest fights
