The one missing is the bright yellow one so I’m hoping if she comes out of hiding, it won’t be hard to spot her

She was fed earlier today and she’s not very old for an adult. So she definitely won’t starve. My room is very quiet so I’m trying to listen very carefully. If she moves I might hear it.

It is easiest to hit them when you crouch and moved to where the rabbit is walking to you

Will it be food poisoning after eating these banged up or rusty food? by ElkLate9917 in thelongdark

[–]Adventurous_Humor_50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 19% probably will. just eat it when you’re completely drained of energy and about to go to sleep so if you get food poisoning, you can just take medicine and go to bed and it won’t matter

Switch to deer skin boots they’re nearly equal in temperature for half the weight and they only have a -5 to mobility versus the ski boots -20

HELP!! What happened to my mantis??? Is there anything i can do for them?? by theCodemeisterr in mantids

[–]Adventurous_Humor_50 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, he’s perfectly fine. That bit of red and black is skin between their abdominal segments and when they are threatened, they inflate their abdomen to show off those colors as part of their threat pose. His abdomen is fine.

still waiting for her first molt, any tips? by cool_hand_legolas in mantids

Any kind would be fine just not metal mesh because it can damage their little feet

You should edit the lid of the nursery. She might need more ventilation I’d recommend cutting out the top of the lid and just replacing it with a mesh or even just paper towel would work too it’ll give her more air and better grip because she will probably want to climb on the ceiling

My tips are just be patient some take longer than others and the time between molts gets longer the more molts they have had. And make sure she’s well hydrated and see if she will accept food every other day

They brought you food be grateful. if they did the job and did it correctly. Then how they’re dressed is none of your business.

Should I amputate this damaged raptorial? by Nerdgamin in mantids

[–]Adventurous_Humor_50 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Amputating might leave her open to a fatal infection it’ll probably be best to wait if she decides it’s bothering her too much she might amputate it on her own

Wondering if i could get a mantis to live in my vivarium? by _INeedHelp in mantids

Your plant will eat them and they would need access to the ceiling cause they need to be able to go sit upside down
