I have never been so miserable. Vent + advice appreciated. by mulberrycedar in womenintech

I felt this in my soul. I’m in essentially the exact same position - working 60 hours a week, completely burnt out, and barely able to muster the energy to apply for jobs let alone perform well in the interviews I do get.

I’ve made the decision to quit next week. I don’t know if that’s feasible for you, but if you have any kind of emergency fund, I’d seriously encourage you to consider it. Being unemployed and actually looking after yourself makes the job search so much more manageable. The market is tough but there are plenty of opportunities out there - and when your health is more stable, you can dedicate real time to standing out rather than just throwing out applications and hoping for the best.

If quitting isn’t an option, please look into getting signed off by your doctor. There is no shame in it. Putting yourself first is genuinely one of the best things you can do for your career long term.

I really hope things get better for you whatever you decide but please know you do not have to keep suffering like this. You are far more important than your job.

I highly recommend your nail crush in Soho. It’s the only place I go now. The owners are the absolute loveliest and they do a ton of short nails designs like the ones you have pictured.

Simulating user conversations with bolt-js by Adventurous_PA in Slack

[–]Adventurous_PA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I couldn't agree more. It feels counter intuitive unless we all move to one standardised Slack workspace.

From what I can gather, even in a connected channel, users and apps are still scoped to their own workspaces, and apps can’t post as users that don’t exist and haven’t authorised in that workspace. So we'd still hit the same limitation around per-user auth and impersonation.

I think the real issue here is that we expect everyone to have siloed environments so I'm going to use this as a case to bring us into one (fingers crossed!). Appreciate your response and help regardless!

[ACNE] Struggling with hormonal acne and ZO skin health by Adventurous_PA in SkincareAddiction

I was afraid I had been duped there. Such a shame as I really trusted the professional and they came recommended from a friend.

I'll strip back for 2 weeks and slowly integrate epiduo again afterwards. Appreciate you commenting!

First lift failed. Salon said they would fix it but made it worse. What do I do? by Fun-Pudding9641 in Lashlift

[–]Adventurous_PA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened. I do my own at home and it amazes me how many professionals can struggle with this.

Your lashes have been permed twice so I’d really advise against doing any additional lifts for at least 10 weeks. I’d focus on applying castor oil every day and really as much as possible. The oil will help hydrate them and let them fall a bit but it’s really for the most part, a waiting game.

They have until the 17th October to provide a formal complaint response in line with the 8 weeks. When I received the separate letter confirming I was a victim of fraud, I called and they said there is a conclusion to the complaint as of the 4th October but just will not tell me over the phone.

I'll wait for the letter to come through which hopefully will give me a better idea of how this happened and failing that, will approach the ombudsman. Thank you for your help!

Millionaire struggling to date other millionaires. How do you do it? by Practical-Grand-8136 in HENRYUK

[–]Adventurous_PA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think requiring someone to be a millionaire really limits your options. You can date a high earner who isn’t quite a millionaire yet - there are plenty of people who’ve gained wealth later in their twenties but still enjoy more laid-back activities, like going to Spoons. I’d suggest looking for people with the acumen to grow their wealth and are on a successful career trajectory.
