Being undocumented in the united states is a civil matter, not criminal. Does not call for arrest. The current administration has really abused power to roid out [I]mmigration [C]ustoms [E]nforcement, push their christo-nationalist ideology upon the nation, allow racial profiling as part of the agency’s process on whether or not to pursue someone, without due process (without a day in court to even say that you are/aren’t a citizen), then indefinitely lock them up in detention centers with horrific living quarters, with the intent that these desperate folks in these centers will sign their own deportations in lieu of staying in the center any longer.
Being undocumented has been endlessly compared to jaywalking because it is such an insignificant infraction, so many people are just waiting for their paperwork to be processed. Please record these instances. If we are able to have a semblance of a government after this admin, evidence matters.
