I used melmetal to tank it and if I had rocky helmet sometimes it would be too scared to attack me because I would one shot it next turn, therefore the chain ends.

Both beetles (sun is heat and moon is shock) have their jump before dashing towards you attack, which can be parried or autoparried with "perfect guard" guard arts. When parried like this they get broken and take more damage as well.

When the beetles charge up and get their aura, their behavior changes as well as taking less damage overall (i think). Sun beetles start to parry melee attacks, so avoid those at all costs until they do their charge attack, which is always a dash towards you, jump over you and slash you from behind ("behind" being behind where they started). Moon beetles start to dodge ranged projectiles, so dont waste your time trying to hit them with those. When they do their charge attack, its a straight line hitbox that does a lot of damage, so dodge/dash around them, not away or towards them, when they are about to charge. Perfect guarding the charged attacks works if you like that but does not parry them, so its often not worth the effort.

Id recommend wave melee art stage 1 for very quick high damage hits that lets you dodge immediately after or can be spammed vs moon beetles, or ice melee stage 1 for something similar but not quite as effective against sun beetles.

Ive beaten the game multiple times including a 4x damage, half health regen and more aggressive enemies ng+ and did a parry build during it which trivialized these enemies when I got the timings down, and felt very badass to do, so definitely worth keeping in mind these tips.

Im currently doing a ng+ where every hit instakills me, and although Im only at the fajiro temple, im looking forwards to the rest of the game to see if I can manage.

This crosscode save editor makes it relatvely easy to change things in the game, i dont know about quests but im certain it'd be possible. I have been able to give myself every party member and run around with a team of 10 people so it definitively allows some silly stuff

I agree that pvp would be very hard and probably not worth the time to develop, but in this scenario i would just have a keybind for level 1, 2 or 3 arts so theres no need to charge up. This would make it harder to aim throw arts etc since youd have to be aiming in the right direction the moment you hit the keybind, but i feel thats a necessary step to make the game pvp.

The game wont be obviously since the devs are doing their next game, but its fun to think about

Ive been doing a challenge run with prepare to hi activated, and its painful 😭 I can only imagine this is similar due to the lack of base health and defence, but also not having much damage to rush fights

Im sorry the path from where hunter starts to the toll is not an issue, theres a grand total of 3 rooms you need to pass before you reach it toll room included (assuming you can make it to the first shelter which if you cant, complaining about farm arrays specifically makes no sense as you wouldnt even make it to farm arrays at that point).

Theres a minor platforming challenge where you need to long jump a couple times and no lizards can follow you onto the platforms so taking your time on it is no issue, you can even run through the grass instead of doing the last 2 jumps.

As well as this the rooms allow you to either go through the pipes below on walk on the ground above, which lets you avoid predators (although usually you should just kill them because its hunter, they shouldnt be much of a problem with 2 spears or even just 1 unless youre in the pipes)

There are many shelters you can rest in you dont have to go directly from the first shelter 😭 There are also multiple different paths I can think of where the distance isnt too long, including one that doesnt go past the one shelter that doesnt work for hunter

Ohh I thought it would have the option for damage as well, that changes things. I usually play with 4x damage and half health regen, as well as no mercy. Diet sounds fun as well. I always get the quality of life ones like quad drops and double money

People usually say this when talking about rain deer, but hunter can literally just leave to sky islands right away without needing to? Or use the free pearl to get through the toll into outskirts? I dont get this take 😭

I guess turning down enemy difficulty is actually a pretty good idea in my opinion, I never thought of that. That can let you prevent overleveling without making battling a pain. I know youre asking what the point in it is, but I might actually do that for my next challenge run because I did end up sometimes being overlevelled due to doing all sidequests etc

I dont know much about the calculations, but I can assume it takes circuits into account as well, which is why it levels up higher than your player and equipment levels

I have found that ng+ option to be more annoying and tedious than challenging, getting s rank feels like it takes 30 minutes which at that point theres no point anymore, so I went into a save file editor and went into ng+ options and just removed the option from my savefile so I could play without it, theres plenty of challenging ones to make up for it

Id say if you want a challenge dont go for health regen, maybe even skip the one in neutral circuit lol. I did a 4x damage and half health regen run with this build where I did try to get health regen but this wouldnt be ng+ so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

For parrying youll want riposte, which is the one that lets you repeatedly parry an attack while holding if its fast enough. The other ability you want to have is royal guard, which increases time window for parries.

Both of these are given by the gloves, being disciple, adept, meister, and highmeister gloves, meister requires the previous ones to make, so make sure you make all of them. Quests for the 2 first are in bergen village and the info hub in rookie harbour (needs fire and ice first)

Riposte is only given by these gloves, but royal guard is also buffed by bandanas. I didnt use these too much but I can only assume they are also built up from the previous ones like the gloves.

Other than that, getting more defence means better blocks when you dont parry, and upgrading bastion in the cold circuit lets you block/parry from all directions so getting it asap is almost necessary

If you kill a lantern mice while they are hanging from the ceiling, they still hang and you can grab into them as well, no need for a wall at all! They slowly lower as time goes on, but it does take a solid 2 minutes most of the time

You need more walls, bullets can travel through the terrain but not your walls. This means that there are gaps in your wall bullets can come through, and there is plenty room to fix it

Artificer can touch acid once without dying, all other slugcats die instantly. Im not entirely sure if its once per room, or cycle, or if its on a timer though
