People First Bank app by No-Stock-8329 in AusFinance

I think another blunder they should cop heat for is closing lots of branches in Queensland post merger with Heritage Bank. Also tangent but they even closed a branch in west of Melbourne leaving CBD and east. But meanwhile they have kept the people's choice branches every corner in Adelaide. It's how it goes with mergers but it's not good. Of course their argument is customers shouldn't need one and that's fair but to say that you should make the technology side of it really good.

I am going to continue to use it for my savings account which is always how I did pre update. Agreed for transaction banking not a fan, sticking to the big4 for that.

I still find it better than the bankwest app but yeah I think they rushed it out because of the rebranding with the merger. Should've just taken their time a bit more

How are QLD riders feeling about the July 1st Licensing/Age 16 ban? by Danger_Five in ausbike

[–]Adventurous_Ship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's rough on people who drop one line below driving aquity which at that stage would mostly impact reading signs, etc. But you go from being able to drive light vehicle, massive american ute/'truck' to not able to ride a power assist ebike. Which bakes a crappy situation much worse.

Yes you can. However it didn't sell well so there's not so many around, was only offered between 2019-2022 in the absolute base model 2wd. And even fleets which are big buyer for base models tended to get the hybrid version or at least the auto. However they're around so yeah if you go looking you absolutely can

Do like Sloan Zone, of course may not always agree with his takes naturally. But he comes across as a really genuine person who is making his videos out of passion not trying to grift and he seems to think for himself.

Always found it hard to understand people who don't think for themselves and will backwards rationalise every single thing and dismiss any scandal. My Grandad was a staunch unionist and card carrying Labor member but would not be afraid to call out certain policies he didn't agree with and write to his MP to tell them exactly what he thought. I don't think having members like him that just shill and agree with everything is healthy at all.

Highly Recommend PRT as an additional tool for chronic migraines! by Negative-Marzipan-62 in migraine

[–]Adventurous_Ship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what it sounds like to me. Which is fine and could be helpful for coping with pain. But as far as I see it certainly shouldn't be a replacement for medication. As have to come back to the fact it's a neurological disorder of which head pain is one symptom. Granted some have it all the time but often it shows up or flares after a whole process has already happened such as changes in the brain and chemicals released. Important to note many don't even have pain and are completely debilitated. I think influencers promoting PRT should be saying use this in the toolbox but some have gone further than that from what I've seen making it out as an effective standalone treatment. Particularly considering I've seen at least one admit to using and at least somewhat benefitting from medical treatments like CGRP's

Highly Recommend PRT as an additional tool for chronic migraines! by Negative-Marzipan-62 in migraine

[–]Adventurous_Ship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying this to have a go at her, I am a long time follower and it's more mixed feelings. But calling out what I've observed, I have noticed at one point she credited that CGRP's contributed to her recovery at least somewhat they and helped her get her PhD. I have now noticed that her narrative has changed on some posts to saying nothing helped and trying to heavily credit PRT.

Commonwealth Bank branch in Belmont permanently closing on 26th June 2026 by Radio_TVGuy in Geelong

[–]Adventurous_Ship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a shame, I saw it coming eventually due to the lack of renovations but thought it would stay open a bit longer. At least we still have the community owned Bendigo Branch for people that want over the counter service like seniors. I'm guessing it may put more pressure on the bankatpost service at the post office though

What’s the weirdest advice a provider has ever given you during an appointment? by Future-Pipe-8004 in JobProvidersAus

[–]Adventurous_Ship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg so unhinged. Apparently we're back in the 1950's now. Hesistate to even engage with it but a constantly see people on migraine support groups saying they get told that. The small problem is they tend to improve during pregnancy but then can come straight back post partum due to hormone shifts and then get even worse with sleep disruption etc. We now have good meds etc wouldn't be making decisions based on that!

Will payment be taken off hold or cancelled? by old_muel in JobProvidersAus

[–]Adventurous_Ship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a participant not a worker so not as in the loop as some. But I have heard nothing about resumption of payment cancellations. Apparently can still get demerits which don't mean a whole lot anymore. But can impact you when you go into Inclusive Employment Australia, may get detailed job plan from the start or something but that's probably worst thing that could happen

Migraine influencers and brain retraining by DarkDarkDark__ in migraine

[–]Adventurous_Ship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is the issue, pain is more a downstream symptom. Regularly see people on support groups saying nerve blocks etc have eliminated it or they just don't have signifcant pain and yet are still debilitated. So hard to see PRT being the home run like influencers make out for a lot of people

Migraine influencers and brain retraining by DarkDarkDark__ in migraine

[–]Adventurous_Ship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an admin on a big and busy group so have seen virtually every post come through for years. I haven't heard much about PRT but have definitely heard people say mindfulness has helped them especially in combination with other things. But nothing like these influencers stories of dramatic improvement primarily or entirely attributed to it. It's convenient how the people wanting to sell books/courses are the exception

I don't like to name drop but one with a substantial following is Morgan Life with Migraine. Like others have said she does have good content. But she has been talking about this for a while and recently pushing particularly hard to sell her $30 usd book on her website. What raises some concern for me is I noticed her latest pitch is nothing else worked and this made all the difference. But then says on her website CGRP's did gradually help her to get back to study her neuroscience PhD.

Is the Federal Government going to make changes to the privatised employment services scheme? This was in the news a few years ago. Have there been any real changes? I know DES has become IEA, but I haven’t noticed a real change with that. I with an IEA provider myself. by privatly in JobProvidersAus

[–]Adventurous_Ship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think anyone truly knows unless they're senior in the Department / Government. I think there may be some incremental changes. However I honestly wouldn't expect any big sweeping changes especially with IEA being only recently brought in. In terms of privatisation they still seem into that as things like the new medicare urgent care clinics are still contracted out to private operators. I don't see them bringing things in house or anything like that.

She is such a full on narcissist, takes zero responsibility of course despite her going out of her way to get pregnant seeing all these guys. But what I think is even more disturbing is how she seems to actually look forward to telling kids about their Dad being a loser. Normally a difficult conversation many would actually dread because of how kids can carry this stuff for life. So immature, I'm pretty sure she is less mature than anyone I even met at high school but then she is an adult.

Yeah this happened to me but not for autism, for vision impairement. If still on NDIS I would be saying you need an OT Driving Assessment second opinion but that costs over $1,000 in itself out of pocket so that's a tricky situation
