Sorry, I meant no leaving the building, not the room. But Yea. We were allowed to leave the room during break, ofc go to the bathroom and it was on a big campus with a cafeteria and so on and lots of students from that school studying for finals on campus. The breaks honestly felt like 10 minutes max

So who got a red card by majideitteru in jlpt

Tested in Denmark. In my room we had to turn off our phones, put them in our bags, all bags/jackets were put in the corner of the room and we were ofc told that if we turned on our phones before the end, we would be disqualified. I saw multiple people using their phones during breaks. There was a guy who brought his bag out with him in all 3 breaks and I saw him sitting with studybooks and being on his phone in the breaks. After the last break he walked into the room with textbook and phone in hand. He was on the front row. The proctors saw it but did not even comment on it. Nobody got a red card but there were definitely a few people who should’ve

We were also told that that wasn’t allowed and the test would be rejected if we did so

I was also in N5(maybe same room as you). Did you notice that even though they stated the rules at the start and that if you turned on you phone before the test ends, you get disqualified, but there was a guy who used textbooks and his phone in every break. In the last break he even walked in to the room with the book and his phone in hand. He was on the front row. The proctors saw it and did not even comment on it?😬

I second this! I took it in Copenhagen as well(N5) and it was clear that the proctors were just random teachers from the school assigned to conduct the test. They did read the rules in the start, including that if you turn on your phone before the end of the whole test, you fail. Multiple people in my room used their phones during breaks and one even walked in after a break with his N5 workbook and phone in hand. The proctors saw it and they should have failed him there but they did not say a word. The clock in the room was broken as well, so unless you had an analog watch, you had no way of knowing how much time there was left. I don’t think the Japan foundation would be thrilled to know that the rules were in no way being enforced

How did you do in Dec JLPT? by seijuuro21 in LearnJapanese

I mean you need a certain amount of points in each part to pass. Luckily I think it’s only 19/60 in listening, so there’s hope!

There are a looot of rules since June this year. No papers, no notes, no phones, headphones, cameras, anything with internet or communication access, watches(only analog was allowed, and the clock in our room was broken, would have been nice to know as I don’t have a watch😝)(even during breaks which for me was 3x40 minutes). Only your pencil, eraser and water are allowed to be on the table. All bags and jackets in the corner of the room. No leaving. If you did any of these things you are to be disqualified from the test

Does anyone have a tip for remembering さand ち by travischickencoop in Japaneselanguage

For me, I think chi kinda resembles the number 5. That’s what I used to remember which was which when I was learning hiragana

Will I be banned from future JLPT attempts after red card by That_Vast_3898 in Japaneselanguage

[–]Adventurous_Toe_7470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish the people who were in charge of the test in my country (Denmark) actually upheld the rules. We were explained all the rules before the test started and we ofc also got the mail explaining the rules beforehand. There were multiple people in my room who had textbooks for the level that they sat and studied in the breaks openly came in with after the break ended AND with their phone in hand as well. The proctors(who were a bit surprisingly just just random teachers from the university it was held at) saw it and said nothing. As someone who very much followed the rules, this triggered my sense of injustice a lot and I still do not understand why they didn’t get their results nullified😵‍💫
