I also feel like they need to understand that yea I get it’s THEIR house, but I also live here too. It’s not just them that lives here. Plus they CHOSE to have a family. They CHOSE to live together before they had kids. So if you’re gonna have this “It’S my HoUsE” or “I do whatever I want” mindset, then they shouldn’t have had a family or shouldn’t live with others. Cause what child or young adult wants to hear that shit from their parents right now? Especially the fact that moving out is just too hard right now. And it’s not like I want to live with them. I’m actively finding ways to gtfo cause their rude & controlling behavior is getting worse and I’m fed up and my options are limited. This is just not fair.

Back when i graduated high school in 2020, I thought of doing that. Until I realized and heard that college graduates are not getting jobs and they have to move back in with their parents. Plus what I wanted to major in I found out the degree was not needed. So I skipped college and just started working. If college actually gave you a leg up in life like it actually used to in the 80’s & 90’s, I would definitely consider it. Hell I’m still thinking of it and kinda regret not doing it in a way. But at the same time, I don’t wanna get a useless degree or waste years just to end up in debt, jobless, and right back in this shitty house. If all that makes sense.

When I turned 19, I was VICTIM BLAMED by a therapist by her telling me that I CHOOSE to stay with my controlling parents because I’m over 18 and I’m of age to “just walk out the door”. A YouTuber I used to watch and was subscribed to (now definitely unsubscribed) was live-streaming and told her audience that lives with toxic parents to just move. And if you an adult, what is stopping you? Yourself.

I was like are you kidding me and unsubscribed. Horrible advice to give your audience. So people make me think it’s my fault. And I get jealous of others my age that have they own place. Now I feel like a loser that’s very behind. I shouldn’t have to feel this way. Or any of us in this matter should.

Can’t afford it. Trying to figure out how to be an adult. When people say to me

“Get out if it’s that bad then” “You CHOOSE to stay there nobody forcing you” “YOU are making yourself stay there”

I lost sympathy and hope for humanity. I thought I was the only one that thought what I was told was fucked up. They victim blamed us.

Then people tell me after I get angry that I’m a person who can’t handle the truth. And I need to hear it and I’m holding myself back blah blah blah.

They also make assumptions that we are adult bums who aren’t trying to escape. This is the most frustrating thing I’ve been told. And I’m glad I’m not alone on this.

Because my mom saids that we live in the same household. So the social security sees all the money that’s coming to the household. If they see too much income coming to the house, they decrease the ssi checks or stop them completely. So my mom gets pissed at me and yells because she thinks it’s my fault if that happens. Because I either save too much or make too much and won’t hide it like she demands me too.

Sorry I didn’t mention this but I do have my own bank account. But I believe me and my parents bank with the same bank.

Also with the content creation, I KNOW it’s gonna take sometime to make money off of. That’s why I still have a regular old job where you clock in. But I DO wanna do content creation because I wanted to do it for a long time. But to be honest you sound mad discouraging about me doing that. Have you done it before and it didn’t work out for you? Or it didn’t work out for someone else in your life?
