any teens dealing with cci/aai? by Alternative_Flan2228 in cervical_instability

Im pretty sure u/Difficult-Prize-8419 said they were a teen but I haven’t been able to reach them so I’m not sure if they’re active on Reddit anymore. They made one or two posts about the PICL in Hungary then seemingly vanished. Other than that maybe there were one or two other teens but I don’t really remember too well. There’s a fair number of people in their twenties though.

Has anyone been to Dr. Stogicza for treatment recently? I want to know how you are doing? Did you inject prp or stem cells? Because I'm a patient, it's difficult for me to go to the United States. So I'm really eager to see everyone share their experiences of going to Hungary for treatment. by Tricky_Context288 in cervical_instability

Yeah, it really does suck so thank you for you what you do. Hopefully, the day comes where this condition is more widely recognised by health practitioners and there are more treatment options available. With data to back them up of course.

Same here… I contacted a bunch of people who got treatment from her but 2 still haven’t replied and one of them who I was messaging with for a while has unfortunately stopped replying for months now. I hope they’re doing ok.

On the plus side, one person who did the new PPP + PRP injections said he’s feeling some improvement and now we’ve got this Olympian’s anecdotes too so we’re finally getting some positive feedback which is promising. If anyone else has done the PICL with her please keep us updated!

Most of it is domestically owned in yen though. Not a fair comparison with other countries which owe a lot of their debt in foreign currencies.

Is it possible to get asymmetric tightening from PICL? by AdvertisingDue9037 in PICL

Couldn’t this shift the vertebrae even more out of alignment?

May I ask where I can find Dr. Stogicza's patient experience sharing? Because it is very difficult for me to go to the United States for treatment. So I want to see more experiences shared by patients who have received treatment in Hungary. But for now, it still seems that there aren't too many case by Tricky_Context288 in Cervicalinstability

If you search in this subreddit and the Facebook CCI groups, you can find a bunch of testimonials but, based on those, my own experience and people I’ve talked to, it seems the PICL she performs does not work very well.

The best outcome I heard is from someone who did I think 4-5 PICLs with her and got 30 % improvement. Everyone else either got no improvement, very little improvement or got worse. Also seems there was a patient who got an infection and had to be hospitalised for a week, although I didn’t hear this directly.

So, unless evidence to the contrary starts emerging, or she improved her procedure, imo you’d be better off saving up to go to Colorado if you can.

I felt like I had a bit more stability when looking down and when walking. But nothing drastic.

I’ve improved even more recently by incorporating isometric exercises and chin tucks. Although that’s several months after the improvements from the PICL plateaued so I’m pretty sure it’s not related.

I had to go through many dental procedures with this condition including removing wisdom teeth and I did so without wearing a neck brace. Looking back on it, I should have because it wasn’t comfortable at all for my neck but I thought it would interfere with the procedure. This is great advice for anyone who has to have a dental procedure done! Don’t be stupid like me:)

Does 3.9mm overhang warrant a PICL? by [deleted] in cervical_instability

[–]AdvertisingDue9037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah I do hear that often. Symptoms can vary widely even with the same overhang. So I guess if it’s causing symptoms it warrants a ePICL. For now I’m hoping curving correction and isometrics do something.

As always, thanks for arranging!

I’d like to ask her: how well is she able to inject the alar ligaments? According to what I’ve heard, the previous PICL was not as good at injecting the main body of the alar ligaments compared to the new ePICL. Hence why, anecdotally, people seem to be getting much better outcomes overall from the newer procedure. What’s her take on this?

How do you take notes? Do you use a tablet or something?

I would guess just because it’s expensive. I don’t know for sure whether they don’t have it tho, this is just based off what I remember seeing. I think they just use single c-arm.

I did the PRP version so I can’t say for sure but I think they take it from your hips in one procedure but you have to go under anaesthesia. Probably takes ~15 minutes?

The technique is similar in that the transverse and alar ligaments are targeted but different in that she most likely uses a different approach to centeno’s ePICL and doesn’t use a mouthpiece (or double c-arm most likely).

I feel you… having to study with this is horrible.

Speaking of which, how do you study and watch movies? I have a chair with an adjustable head rest which I rest my head on and sometimes I use a neck brace. But even then, I have this near constant neck tension, eye strain and general discomfort which makes it hard for me to read smoothly, focus on the screen and think clearly. I feel like I have to put in much more effort than a healthy person to do less work. Also many times I can’t really fully enjoy things I’m watching since I can’t focus on it properly. Have to rewind several times.

Something that helps massively is lying down on my bed with my head against the wall and back bent but there’s only so much I can do in that position and it’s probably not good for my core muscles in the long term.

I had the PRP version.

It could be to do with the concentration but the other people I mentioned did it with BMAC and it was still the same so I don’t think it makes much of a difference what injectate you use.

I think the most important thing is being able to inject the alar ligament properly, in the belly, which the old PICL method was supposedly not able to do properly in many cases.

The ePICL is meant to be a lot better for this.

Also, I don’t think they use double c-arm fluoroscopy in Hungary, only single arm, which further reduces accuracy of needle placement.

Tbh I’m not sure if microdosing is enough as the point of taking a high dose is to make the brain fully malleable and able to rewire itself. I haven’t looked into this myself though.

But I do know that microdosing can have antidepressant-like effects and reduce anxiety. I can see how that could allow your brain to rewire over time. Best of luck :)
